The man stops right in front of the sword and begins pressing against the edge with his hand. Cutting into it.
"Hes free.. free.."

A black steam comes off of him as the tattoos fade away. His eyes begin to revert back to their normal color but before whatever was attached to the man left it opened its mouth one last time. "How many guards made it back from the door they were guarding?" Finally the man returned to normal. His face still injured and terrified.

"Guards?! What guards dammit!"

"Ahh... my face!... where? Why?" The now injured man begins panicking as he regains himself unsure where he is or why his face is horrifically mutilated.

"What? Your face is fine! Tell me about the guards"

"I, I remember deciding to head up to the guards stationed up north at those large doors to send them some food. Next thing you know a man with a black spear showed up breaking the door. He told me to deliver a message and then... ah damn I blacked out and never figured out what he meant by message"
