Scars Remain...
Somewhere in the dojo, thirty minutes after Kari was....killed.
Mari was hiding behind some crates and a wall, terrified, wrapped in a blanket. She hadn't cried out of fear someone would find her and kill her. That's all anyone ever did to her kind..her family..Regardless where she would go, someone would always seek to kill her and make her a hunting trophy. She had learned this the hard way when she watched her mom get shot right in front of her, her father soon to follow. Kari had taken care of their family since then, up until her little brother and sister were killed in the invasion, along with her grandmother. Kari and Mari had come to the Dojo seeking shelter, and instead Kari was dead, at the hands of some foul being. So she sat there, hiding, shaking, cold, afraid.

And that's where I came in. I'd walked by, in my normal military fatigues, right sleeve rolled up to the nonexistent shoulder. I spotted the kid, looking down at her in pity. I didn't dare get too close. "Hey there, kiddo. You alright? You look scared." I put on my gentlest tone, I was just trying to help.
-
She looked up at him, backing away a little. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying. She whimpered, obviously scared of him. Heck, she was scared of everyone.
-
"Kid, I'm not here to hurt you. What would a guy with one arm be able to do to hurt someone? I want to help."
-
She shook a little, calming down, as in her fear leaving. Grief soon set in and she was crying, falling on her side.
-
I leaned down, and picked the girl up, comforting her in my one arm. "Hey... Kiddo... It'll be alright. If something bad happened, you're safe now. It'll be alright."
-
She hugged him, crying into his shoulder/neck area. She sobbed, shivering as she was still cold, even under the blanket.
-
I began to carry her back to my room, I'd find something to warm her up.
-
She continued shivering. Her crying had died down to a couple sniffles. She gazed off dreamily, not quite focusing on anything.
-
We eventually reached the room, and I sat her down on the couch. I took the blanket from my bed, and covered her with it. I sat down beside her. "You poor thing...."
-
She shivered still, wiping her eyes with her shaky hand.
-
Ian ran past, smiling in her direction.
end
-
Epilogue. Ian slips on more ice.
-
He dodges it.
-
He soon realizes he was teleported to an ice rink. He then slips and breaks his butt.
-
He disappears in a cloud of smoke, then reappears at his base. "Jesus. That was weird."
-
The floor is coated in ice.

Edited by ookshmook: 12/30/2016 3:09:21 PM(The endermaster was walking in the dojo, and turned, surprised, at the
whatever she (I think) is, I can't remember
cowering, leaving a lift trail of the mist-like substance behind him) "What are you doing here?"
-
She shakes as she backs into the corner of the two walls, obviously terrified of him. (she's a werefox. Kind of like a werewolf, only a fox.)
ah.
(The figure doesn't seem surprised, most people are when confronted with completely black humanoids with only glowing magenta eyes as features. He took a step forward.) "Can you talk?"
-
She shook her head no, still shaking.
-
"Can you write?"
-
She looks as if she nods yes. She backs herself up a little more, re-wrapping the blanket around her.
-
(The figure raises his hand, looking as if he is holding something with finger and thumb, and a small slip of paper appears, which he hands to mari, alongside a pencil)
-
She picks it up, looking at him curiously as it shakes in her hands.

"What are you doing here?"
