Scars Remain...
Somewhere in the dojo, thirty minutes after Kari was....killed.
Mari was hiding behind some crates and a wall, terrified, wrapped in a blanket. She hadn't cried out of fear someone would find her and kill her. That's all anyone ever did to her kind..her family..Regardless where she would go, someone would always seek to kill her and make her a hunting trophy. She had learned this the hard way when she watched her mom get shot right in front of her, her father soon to follow. Kari had taken care of their family since then, up until her little brother and sister were killed in the invasion, along with her grandmother. Kari and Mari had come to the Dojo seeking shelter, and instead Kari was dead, at the hands of some foul being. So she sat there, hiding, shaking, cold, afraid.

She shakes her head no, crying. Her hurt leg had been taken care of and was bandaged, but she would likely never recover from watching her brother die the way he did.
-
"When I say are you ok, I don't mean just physically. Why are you crying?"
-
She looked at him with a look of devastation and loss, not being able to covey what she meant through words.
-
"Well, whatever it is, you need to get the hell out of here. Now. You think death is the worst thing that can happen? You won't if you stay here." The sound of breaking boxes intensifies and the sky starts going dark.
-
She nods, but doesnt have anywhere to go.
-
"What are you deaf? Go!" He says, picking you up and shoving you along. "Anywhere is better than here!" The sky gets darker, and a hissing sound resonates throughout the air.
-
She gets up and runs, not sure where to go so she just runs. Eventually, she finds herself out of the Dojo, running through the woods and into the Glade.
-
A faint explosion goes off in the dojo, near the site were she ran from. Gunfire fills the air and a few buildings burn.
-
She yelps fearfully, continuing to run.
-
A swarm of ships shuffle out of the dojo. One lands right in front of you. "This should only take a second. Do you know anything about the recent attacks on the dojo?"
-
She yelps again, shaking her head no as she stumbled backward.
-
"None? We caught some of your hair at the scene of one lately. Of well, must have been a coincidence."
-
Her breathing calmed down as she backed away from the ship, still traumatized by her brother's murder.
-
"How about the murder of some guy named Kari?"
-
She tears up immediately at the mention of his name, covering her face as she starts crying again. This day was just going to keep getting worse and worse it seemed..
-
"Well it seems like you do. We need any data possible on the matter so that we can find and kill anyone involved."
-
She whimpers, not being able to speak. (literally. She cant talk)
-
Can she communicate?
"Oh, well now I feel like a dick. Can you use sign language?"
-
(not really) She shakes her head no, but she gets an idea. She makes a writing gesture with her hand, sniffling a few times.
-
"Oh, I see." He hands her a piece of paper and a pen.
-
She quickly scribbles down "Mari Kari, Brother, Sister. Someone kill brother." She shook as she wrote this. She looked small, about the age of six.
-
"Ah, so you are the victims sister. Tell me, do you know anything about the killer?"
-
She shakes her head, sniffling again.
-
"Well, thanks anyway. I am sure this data can be put to good use." The soldier hops in the ship and flies away.
-
She's left there all alone. She drops to her knees, wondering what she would do now. She didnt know how to take care of herself. Her entire family was dead. And she didnt know anyone.
