He laughed a little, smiling a bit more. "Well, at least you have/had grandparents." he said, opening the door to the cafeteria.
-
"Huh? What do you mean? You don't have any?" What Quincy said was a weird statement to come from anyone. She didn't think there was anyone without a family, even in the whole universe.
-
"I more or less came out of a laboratory. I mean, my original self probably had grandparents, but they're long dead by now. C'mon, dont want the hot chocolate to be gone when we get there." he said, motioning for her to walk through the open door.
-
"Definitely not." She steps through the doors and takes a big wiff of the chocolate. Her powerful nostrils smelled the drink quite strongly. "Smells great!"
-
"Thanks! I made it myself. C'mon." he says, stepping in after her and walking to a big thermos-like jug with a nozzle. He puts a mug under and and pours her a cup. "Here ya go." he says, holding it up to her.
-
"Thanks!" Falei says with a smile, taking the cup and taping another wiff. She then sips it, quite slowly. "Mmm, I haven't tasted hot chocolate like this in forever!"
-
"Thanks, its homemade." he says, happy to have made her happy.
-
"Awesome, homemade stuff is always the best." She takes another sip, obviously savoring the taste. It seemed she was remembering some distant things, perhaps memories of her and her family were coming back, as she held back a tear.
-
He noticed. "You ok?" he asked, his voice softer.
-
"Yeah...I'm fine. Just some little bits of memories, ya know." She wipes her eye and sighs.
-
He nods. "I know the feeling...I didn't have most of my memory until a few months ago..."
-
"That sounds like it hurts more than this...But it's good that you got them back. Sometimes pain is good, ya know?"
-
He chuckles. "Only ever sometimes.."
-
"Yeah, but it when it is, it helps get us places. Just like where I am today." Falei says, referring to her parent's deaths and her missing brother.
-
"I guess that's true. I'f I hadnt been kidnapped, experimented on, and brutally pushed through several arctic wastelands, I would never have found my way here and get engaged. Funny how life works." he said, laughing at his ridiculous life.
-
"It really is." She says, laughing along with him, but at her own life.
-
Once he calms down, he takes a sip of his cocoa. "So. Where ya from?"
-
"...wait...I don't think I actually remember...damnit. Damn military with their bullshit..." Falei says to herself, quietly, like she thought they might hear her.
-
He tilts his head. "Which military?"
-
"I've never really known, I never actually cared enough to remember that."
-
"Huh...sounds...conspicuous..so, uh, what brings you to Tatakai? Military stuff or personal reasons?"
-
"Personal, since my brother went missing, and he's always liked fighting, I figured he might want to come here."
-
"Interesting." ((crap. Misreplied to the other interaction))
-
i noticed, idc tho
"He was always such a great fighter, it makes me wonder why he didn't go to learn any martial arts or anything..."
-
"What's his name?" he asked, wondering if he's seen him around.
