Mari had been out picking flowers, dressed in her cute little sweater with a big snowflake on the center and her new sweatpants and cherry red socks, hoping the one time she went outside nothing bad would happen.
Upon seeing Ian, she remembered everything from that night in vivid detail, as if she were back there, living through it again. She held back a scream, or maybe they were tears, and bolted away into the woods quietly.

"Oh my God..." For a minute, he stands there, then decides to go after her. "Mari? Mari, I want to apologize."
-
She looked behind her, terrified. Unfortunately for her she ran into a tree, yelping and falling down.
-
He knelt down next to her, pulling bandages out of his satchel. "I'm sorry... so, so sorry."
-
She backed against a tree, shaking fearfully.
-
"I'm not going to hurt you, okay?" He was on the verge of tears himself.
-
He saw confusion in her eyes, as well as fear and grief. He had caused her so much pain and suffering, so much loss, and now he's being kind? She shook, a little bit of blood trickling down her face. She hit the tree pretty hard..
-
His eyes brightened at the sight of the blood on her face, and reached out to wipe it off. "Are you okay?"
-
She merely shook, probably not okay.
-
"Hey... Its okay..." He turned away and licked his thumb, then turned back to her. "I'm sorry for what I did. Really, I am." He was bandaging her head where it had collided with the tree.
-
He had killed her only blood-family left, something told him sorry wouldn't cut it. She calmed a little, her eyes watering. It looked like she would cry.
-
"Hey... Hey, don't cry..." He started to cry as well, getting up and turning his back to her. "....I... I didn't want to kill him. But the primal instinct that comes with being a vampire... it's hard to deal with..."
-
She tries holding in her tears, but they come out anyway. She hugs her legs to her chest, resting her head on her knees. "G-gone...gone.." was all she said.

Edited by FlimsyRoastBeef: 1/2/2017 10:51:14 PMHe turns to her, suddenly angry. "IT WASN'T MY FAULT! HE SHOULDVE TRIED! BUT NO, YOUR BROTHER WAS A COWARD! HE HID YOU AWAY, RAN! INSTEAD OF FIGHTING, HE WENT DOWN AFTER A SINGLE HIT! AND THEN I LAUGHED! I LAUGHED AS I CUT OFF YOUR BROTHER'S HEAD!"

She shrieks, crawling backward fearfully. She picked up a rock, shaking violently as she stared at him, her eyes wide as tears seemed to leak freely from them.
-
He chuckled, shaking his head at how weak and cowardly she was. "I should kill you too. End you pathetic f--king bloodline." He pulls his 44. Magnum out of his coat.
-
Her eyes go wide and she draws Lefty, a pink P99 Quincy gave her after teaching her how to use it. She aimed at his hand and fired twice.
-
She misses, because Ian had moved his hand as soon as she had pulled it out. "So now you fight back. When pushed to Death's door, when faced with harsh truth... you fight back." He smiled, leveling the gun to her head. "You would've made an amazing diplomat, kid."
-
She fired again, five times in his general area.
-
One ripped through his side, but not before he fired a shot at her head.
-
His currently lousy form, along with the recoil of the gun, made him miss, nearly punching a hole in her ear. She fires again at his hand, trying to get him to drop the gun.
-
It hit his hand, knocking the gun out of his hand. "You're a good shot, kid." He stood up, eyeing the gun in her hand. "I'll let you live." He vanished in a cloud of smoke, leaving only his revolver.
end
