Hello and welcome Guardians! for those who still recognize my name it's been a while, for everyone else, HELLO! i'm AnonPig, i do the lore things.
But today I'm here to ask you that very simple question, there are three Factions in Destiny and they all have their own philosophical stance on how to do things in the Destiny Universe, i align with Dead Orbit myself because i feel it's the most logical answer. Holding on to our planets and our lost Golden Age is a mistake, we can find a better life out there among a different star.
so what does your Faction mean to you? (answers may be read on the corresponding Faction episode of my podcast the Destiny Lore Cast, go check out our episode with Baxter from https://www.ishtar-collective.net linked above!)

Junk stuff because it's worthless. Got my exotic for NM-Hunter. Really does nothing so never worried about other two exotics. I stopped leveling gunsmith and most 390 drops. All junk.
-
Red and white looks good
-
Dead Orbit because they are edgy
-
whichever faction has the best weapons so right now FWC cuz the waltz is really good and the new monarchy sniper is also quite good so yea...

Edited by Tennman73: 1/11/2017 3:09:38 AMThe factions remind me of high school clicks. Dead orbit is definitely the Goths. New Monarchy reminds me of jocks or preps. Since FWC hides upstairs in the hanger thats your lone wolf. Currently I think i'm with FWC but I really could care less. Its all about the gear and who offers what. No real motivation for faction loyalty.

Once you pass 390 light level the factional groups are all useless. I guess bungie didn't think of this the last time they did a update.
-
Doesn't really mean much to me other than 4 strange coins every time I go up a level. Stuff drops at 385-390 for me and it's almost always an automatic dismantle. FWC on my Titan DO on my Hunter NM on my Warlock Haven't changed yet. I don't see any difference in the gear one gets, but the DO and NM patterns/designs in their gear is nicer than FWC....their stuff is just ugly IMHO

Nothing because they're useless in the game.
-
-
Future War Cult means the hopes for a God roll on The Waltz
-
I picked factions just based on what guns I wanted at the time...
-
Nothing
-
New monarchy is the only faction that doesn't want to run away like cowards or fight a battle that hasn't happened yet
-
Future war cult has the best weapons in y3 rn so....
-
Cool guns and cloaks.
-
New Monarchy armor, with Dead Orbit shaders, and using Future War Cult weapons. 👍🏼
-
Humanity has been caged. We will break the bars.
just give me the legendary of the Y1 Dead Orbit cloak and I'll be a happy Hunter
-
Is overwatch a faction?
-
FWC, because they have the best guns!
-
💩💩💩💩💩
-
Dead Orbit....cause this game be dead, yo.
-
Dead orbit, because everything's hopeless
-
FWC, because violence!
-
Good guns
-
Shut up, take my motes, and give me good gear.

I cannot see how the factions can mean anything except weapons and armor, beyond that Bungie hold the key. Each faction has a statement but we don't get to play a role within the group. I like Dead Orbit but I get to do nothing for them, ranking up with them gets me gear other than that, what? Factions should of played a key role for us from day 1, a story line, regular quests and bounties, but Bungie did not see it that way. Some how they managed to create a game with very little story that is open and obvious. Logging onto here to read grimoire is very poor, instead of the story being in game. A cheap ass way to tell a story IMO.... Love Destiny though it just could be so so much better.
