What does your Faction mean to you?
Hello and welcome Guardians! for those who still recognize my name it's been a while, for everyone else, HELLO! i'm AnonPig, i do the lore things.
But today I'm here to ask you that very simple question, there are three Factions in Destiny and they all have their own philosophical stance on how to do things in the Destiny Universe, i align with Dead Orbit myself because i feel it's the most logical answer. Holding on to our planets and our lost Golden Age is a mistake, we can find a better life out there among a different star.

I exchange information from scouting missions with Dead Orbit. Because of their goals, I find their tech is most suited for my needs, though we don't necessarily see eye to eye.

New Monarchy. They originally helped drive out traitors and balance the laws of the last city and the tower, in order to keep everyone safe. They focus on keeping what we have while focusing on the future. As a added bonus they hate the dead orbit faction and have my favorite color. -

We've already defeated the biggest threat, Oryx, so let the other enemies of the city come. We'll defeat them too. New Monarchy The speaker is just like the corrupt popes of the medieval period, we need to get him out of power and put an educated elected official in his place.

Free weapons and not a darn thing more. Couldn't care less about the faction or anything behind it. Choose mine solely on the weapons I can get from the packages.

FWC, there is already a war and we are a part of it. We need to fight the darkness, to protect our home. The awoken left earth and were changed. If we want to stay human at heart and physically we have to defend earth

FWC is the best answer. You can't run from the Darkness like a child, you must prepare and respond accordingly. Plus if anyone doesn't go insane or get killed by their machine, they will be the most knowledgeable Faction. Also plus their shaders are lit af and the wounded and wail are great as well. New Monarchy is eh, and Dead Orbit are pussys.

Black and white shaders.. decent shotgun..other than that, they have no meaning or use.

Literally nothing...actually less than nothing, In fact, I'm pretty sure the only purpose they serve is to try to sell me shitty looking gear with a markup and mumble nonsense every time I pass by.

The story and lore in this game has been chopped up and has pieces missing, In doing that the factions have been reduced to nothing more than trade vendors. Kind of reminds me of people trying to play poker with a partial deck of cards. You can do it but it's not very much fun. This game has been turned into a shoot stuff to get stuff and nothing more. This game is and has been a tremendous amount of fun and I have to add frustration. The sad part is it could have been so very very much more had it been left intact. I hope they do a better job and learn from their mistakes in the making of Destiny 2.

Run, that's the answer? How long before the Darkness finds us again? If we run, we won't have the Travelers light to assist us. Maybe the Hive and Taken would leave us alone, but the Cabal and Fallen would not. What else is out there that we would not be able to face without the Travelers light? Running is the only idea that doesn't work at all. I don't really get New Monarchy. What is there plan, pretend like the war isn't happening? Just make the wall impenetrable, and stay behind it! Yeah, that should work great. The only one that makes sense is Future War Cult. Take the fight to the enemy. Make them bleed until they leave us alone, and then a little more. This is war, and you don't fight a war by running or building a wall (well, that did work once, but it won't work against this many enemies with technology like this.) Basically, the tactic of running has never worked in a war. Building a wall worked once, but it failed when the nation expanded beyond the borders of the wall. Fighting is risky, but it's the only method that history has shown to be effective.

That I get red shaders, black shaders or gay shaders. Some ugly ships except a few and some bad guns.

4 RepliesJust like a number of people who have commented on this post, the factions and their "ideals" mean virtually nothing to me They were only useful to help get to 390 and maybe buy a decently rolled weapon if they were selling them. The factions are just another reminder of how the story and back story/lore behind Destiny was soo poorly portrayed and explained in this game. It's a good thing Bungie know how to make using space magic a fun experience :)

4 RepliesI'm FWC cause our only chance is to fight the darkness. New monarchy don't know what over throwing the speaker could do, obviously the speaker and the traveler have a connection and so overthrowing him might make the traveler turn against us if it's not already that is. Dead orbit says we run... But who's to say the darkness won't follow us? Hive definitely will, we've killed their God, fallen will as we've pretty much destroyed all their houses, vex would even if just to kill fallen and cabal and the cabal would cause they're not allowed back into their empire unless the kill us. Future war cult says we stay and fight the darkness, it's the only real answer. If we destroy the darkness well claim back lost land and we could colonise be land too

1 ReplyFaction chosen strictly by weapon availability therefore FWC (hand cannon, fast rof pulse, fusion) hoping to get good rolls when I rank up. Most of the other faction weapons are just not for me. I care not for any of the 3 ideologies, particularly as they have no bearing on the game.
