Considering there's next to nothing in game as far as story or lore, my faction means pretty armor and cool weapons.

Right. I didn't read that carefully enough. Not sure what you meant by no lore on factions though. The dialogue spoken in game and the grimoire cards give a good idea of their values and what they do.
