It's sad news for Xbox fans and gamers in general. We live in a time when new IPs are disappearing left and right. The first Xbox by contrast was full of incredible new ideas and risky concepts that made for a really unique console experience. The original Xbox was like a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast, and IMO doesn't get nearly enough respect that it deserves for how good it was at catering to hardcore gamers. I love owning a PS4, but I do miss the days when having a Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft console actually meant that you were getting three very unique libraries. Funny thing is, I can't even understand why people engage in console wars today. At least there were enough differences back then to warrant some type of argument for or against those systems.
