Then why do you buy a game in the first place if you know you won't play the biggest activity the game has to offer? That makes no sense and it's a terrible way to spend money.

When people first bought this game many people did not even know there was going to be a raid. Also, people buy video games for enjoyment and a break from the real world. That does not mean they have to do the raid.

Uh, Bungie announced two expansions with raids before the game came out. What are you talking about? And most of the people you are talking about, I am sure they have every single expansion, so they keep buying expansions but they don't have time to play the end game content? Please. A break from the real world? Well, destiny isn't the only game out there. Many games let you "take a break from the real world" while actually playing the biggest activities the game has to offer without spending too much time. Buying destiny when you don't have time to play raids is not really a smart move.
