Why is there not more people excited about Ark??
As above!!
Yes I know the servers are a little choppy (ps4 at least, looks a lot better on p.c from what I seen on YouTube) but at £30 early access, the offline single player is more than worthy of the price!!
Quite challenging, real danger of loosing 20-30 hours work if you die! Lost all my armor, best weapons, ammo, my 1st pteranadon with saddle, will to live & all my food when I accidentally pressed triangle instead of circle!! *rolls a tear*
Then in a rage I lost my favorite raptor trying to retrieve said gear!!
Can't wait to find a descent tribe to run with to try some PvP!

An update wiped my base and takes on the main island, so I transferred over my best wyvern to start rebuilding. Worried that the next big update might wipe my progress, I stored my wyvern in an obelisk. Lo and behold, the next update did...nothing...to my base. Everything was still there. Everything in the obelisk, however, was gone. I'm taking a break until tek tier drops

3 RepliesI was deep in Ark when it first dropped on X1, not having a PC. Can't vouch for ps4, but Xbox is like equivalent to PC now. Fantastic survival game!

If you kill the wrong guy you could have the whole server against you and I don't want to lose the Dino's I spent hours taming because there are people higher than me on the server. I do enjoy ark. However I lost my argetavis (twice) when I was flying around looking for a beaver and then my game crashed and once I got back in something killed my bird and me. I sent in a petition saying I want my bird back because losing it to a game crash isn't fair. I am sure they will say no but may as well try. I can easily tame one again but I shouldn't be forced to

2 RepliesIn my ~hour of experience, the game is horrible when you're starting out. All I'm doing is hitting trees, pooping and dying. And as you go forward, my perception is that it is a continued grind.

The game is super fun once you get past the begining stage. Its best to play on PvP servers with friends so that you always have the thought of some bigger tribe raiding your base! Raiding is super fun and rewarding. Also making alliances with other tribes is cool too! Me and my tribe are so close to overthrowing the alpha tribe in our server.

A lot of people out there that just aren't fans of the genre 3: shady development. The release of scorched earth didn't go over very well with a lot of the community. 4: it's been out for quite a while. Most of the hype for it died out over a year ago.

1 ReplyMy group of friends is split in half. Half play PS4 mostly (me) the other Xbox. The Xbox side literally plays the game ALL the time. Constantly grinding and BS. Sure they've got some stories, and they're always on top, but I'm not about to sign up for a 3am-6am shift every week just so I can feed a dinosaur all night.

5 Repliesgets too boring too quick. its not like minecraft where i can build an enormous gorgeous castle, i cant make minigames, i cant build a damn supercomputer out of redstone. you get crappy guns to kill a bunch of dinosaurs and a farming game that consists of punching rocks, trees, and plants.

5 RepliesI bought it near it's console release and this is what my experience was: -All servers are full... ALWAYS. -Get in a server and get constantly spawn killed. -Start a private server and cant roam out of sight of the host or you get teleported back to them. -Choppy looking graphics, didn't look that good.

It's very much a game about how you bounce back more than anything. That said, sometimes it's just too much. There were these people who would wait until every member of our tribe got off, then they'd raid us at night and take everything. We rebuilt every day, they returned every night. The server promptly helped us gang up on them and entirely wipe them out of existence. Still moved servers though.

8 RepliesFun game but I got tired of the super lag and chopping wood. Freakin 9 hours to tame a Dino. Just to have it killed by a pack of alpha raptors. After losing everything a few times you kinda just say screw this.

5 RepliesEh nobody to play with. I got to lvl 60 playing solo but after i lost all my best gear because of solo cave... i just gave up. Just to much damn management and farming for solo play. Taming ties into it. (Was on official pve server. I think i might go into pvp server but no clan.

[spoiler]basically the dumbass devs added Dino transferring to any server (so alpha tribes on other server come in and destroy EVERYTHING)[/spoiler]

Because the Devs are worse than Activision and the game is basically Rust with Dinos. That's not a good thing.

Run around gathering resources for 3 hours just to see one raptor too high of a level and lose it all. It can take up to DAYS to tame certain creatures, and while I like to work for my stuff in survival games, spending 4 hours on a dire wolf that will probably only last me two days doesn't catch my interest. [spoiler]I did play quite a bit of it for a time, got a fabricated sniper at level 82. But this new content drop seems pretty bad, with tech tier boots letting you ram through stone walls (that take hours of grinding to build) is ridiculous. That and the god awful bullet sponges that are called bosses in this game really piss me off. I love boss fights, and I think they're important. This game just shits on them.[/spoiler]
