He slashed at her back, followed by a pillar of flame erupting upwards a foot in front of her[/b]

[i]Blood spurted out of Maria's back, before-[/i] [i]Suddenly, everything began again.[/i] [i]Maria had turned instantaneously, but...how? And more to the point? Her fist was less than an inch away from Nathaniel's face, as she yelled in fury.[/i] "[b][i]YOU MAGIC USING CHEAT! GODDAMN YOU!"[/i][/b]

After a moment, she lowered her arm, sighing and sitting down on the ground. She appeared to be trying to calm herself down.[/i] "One. Two. Three. Four. Breath in. Breath out. One. Two. Three. Four..."
