We joke about women fairly often, but the anonymity of the internet is destroying any sense of empathy us unaffected have left.
Trust me, I enjoy a good joke or two on a subject. I think calling Donald Trumps 10 year old son the world's first home school shooter is hilarious. Comedy has no bounds and that should be practiced. Same as jokes about the women's march. However, the internet is discounting their voice, invalidating what they believe as if what they're protesting doesn't exist.
More than a million women around the world marched the other day. That is a pretty high turn out for a protest. These people obviously feel something, they obviously are worried about their rights or respects being diminished. There is no discounting that.
I think it's our duty as a nation to hear the voice of such a large group of people. Listen to their fears and their pain, and hear how we can make it better. Compromise is a minor practice is politics, but it is possible. It takes a large amount of people to force a compromise, but we should really get behind these people that feel oppressed. Because it may be you one day.
TL;DR: Over a million women feel their rights/respect is violated by the new guy in office and we should take them seriously because there are so many of them.
-
A million speaking out and a few billion that aren't getting involved. I think the latter has a larger turnout not because of oppression or lack of awareness but because they don't care.
-
I'm sure the women in the middle east who are actually oppressed would be appreciative if we took a bunch of entitled whiny western women more seriously.
-
Wow, more offended people? What a shocker. I'll tune them out like the rest.
-
I bet you're the type of guys who's wife tells you to get back to the kitchen. If so your wife is awesome.

I think the protests are stupid, therefore I will ignore them. Women enjoy the same rights as men, and more privileges arguably. At this point we can get into the whole "abortion rights are women's rights" argument and go on for hours with neither side convincing the other side to change their stance. Once you throw away the abortion argument, there is literally nothing to suggest that women are oppressed and treated inferior to men. If your going to tell me about how the protests are to change sexist behaviors towards women, then that is going to go just as well as those "anti-bullying" campaigns.
-
Guess that's why few of them are good comedians.
-
White knight much. I'm a girl and I think this is cringey
-
You think laughing at 10 year olds who didn't choose their situation in life and are not cognitively or emotionally developed enough to be resilient to your -blam!-ed up sense of humor is laudable? Good job on being a terrible human being. I guess you'll be making fun of retarded deaf babies who are brutally beaten daily by their crack addicted single moms next?

Came expecting kidnapping joke Left disappointed
-
That line about Trump's son ruined your whole past. I didn't like Obama, but I wouldn't find any humor in a joke about his kids... Maybe, just maybe, you'll grow up one day

I will make fun of anybody. I treat people equally so I will make fun of anyone

I'm all for jokes, but when someone is being serious and discussing the protests, you don't drop kitchen jokes to nullify what they're trying to discuss. Like go ahead and share that "Trump got more fat women marching..." meme, but if you're in a debate or discussing the protests, jokes are not appropriate. A wise man once said, "there's a time and place for everything, but not now." Taught me to not ride a bike indoors. Also, Barron being autistic or a school shooter really isn't a funny joke. I don't understand how liberals find that one hilarious. It's dumb. Especially since liberals are for gun control and mental health awareness. It quite literally contradicts what they're for.

Disregard the fact the the woman they where rooting for had 20% of her funding come from places that still stone women and force them to where certain garments regardless of how the feel. Plus the main organizer for the women's march is pro sharia law, which is more anti woman rights than any locker talk every said, and I heard a guy say if women didn't have pussy we would hunt them for sport. I don't know about you but actions speak louder than words.

Nope. I need my sandwich, not a conversation.

Deleted my post saying it's not cool to make fun of a 10 year old kid is not nice try

No, they're being children, throwing a tantrum because things didnt go their way. They can take jokes like the rest of it, they wanted equality, well the internet is here to deliver it. Feminists, and those alike, can f**k right off, I have no sympathy or compassion for people who walk under that banner of sexism.
they obviously are worried about their rights or respects being diminished. but we should really get behind these people that feel oppressed.
-"That feel oppressed." They're not oppressed in the western world. They claim that without evidence of it. They feel that because they lost. I'll start listening when women are ACTUALLY oppressed in America. Go to the Middle East, that's where women are oppressed the most. Just because your feelings are hurt doesn't mean you're oppressed. I'd like to see a womanfrom America talk to a woman from the Middle East about being oppressed. In America, we don't stone women to death in honor killings. In the Middle East, if a woman is raped, she is stoned to death. In Saudi Arabia, women can't drive. That is real oppression. Women have their backs rights taken away, yet the women in western society are acting like children, because they didn't get the result they liked, and are saying they're oppressed just so no one can argue against them. Until these so called,"feminists" start protesting for the rights of women in the Middle East, I will not be taking them seriously when they claim they're oppressed.

Taken seriously. Hahahah that's a good joke. Wait you're not joking? What ? If they get -blam!- the man will go to jail.

*Says we should respect people* *Disrespects someone*

First of all comedy does have boundaries. Go read a book you uncultured half eaten go-gurt tube. Second, the reason why less than 2% of the US population walked around acting like depraved animals is because it made them feel good. No other reason could be agreed on. The closest consensus was abortion "rights" which I'm not even going to get into. Why should anyone care about the feelings of these children? We shouldn't listen to them, we should tell them to go sit the -blam!- down and behave like civilized people or else they're getting a helicopter ride.
