That would be cool. I'm thinking you might see a cut scene with the Queen asking you to save her. Hence D2 is all about rescuing the Queen.

I guess her voice actor said she wasn't dead. Then in the grimoire, I believe it mentions that the awoken are looking for her and find a couple hints at her being alive.
