The morning war
It was around 0730, when the first two Mig 35s flew through the sky, they were at supersonic speeds, moving quickly through the air. They were painted black with red trim, and the had a foreign nation of origin painted on the sides and wings. They were also combat loaded. The two Migs approached the power plants that supplied power to the energy intensive MAC guns that provided the planet with defense. They launched missiles and bombs, dropping their payload and penetrating the energy shielding that had been in place to prevent this sort of strike from occurring. The two jets, seeing that their strike succeeded, RTBed and made way for the follow on strikes. Next came the fighter bombers, A-10s and SU-25s conducted bombing runs of defensive positions and the barracks of the local defense forces. Next to get hit were the comms stations and towers, anything they thought could broadcast a signal, was leveled and destroyed.
It was at this point the ground forces began to deploy, infantry supporting tanks and armored vehicles, artillery, helicopters, these unknown attackers had it all. From the sea came a fleet of 12 warships, one battleship, two destroyers, three cruisers and six frigates. They protected four landing ships that began to send out their landing craft and APCs.
The attack achieved surprise, there was nothing the denizens of the dojo could do to change that, but they still had the ability to fight back, but they would need to rally, the enemy had the momentum, and they planed to use it.
open, part one of many more to come
Cravis had been having a good day. He had drank a coffee, prevented the murder of some political guy on some godforsaken planet by hacking this guy's ship authorisation codes, and had ow of those 'eternal debt' things that never get repaid because capitalism. And then the invasion started. It is a little known fact about Daniel James Cravis that one thing that seriously pisses him off is people trying to invade the dojo, be it lennies, zombies, or edgy vampires in mech suits. (More like meh suits, Daniel thought) So he did what he always did. Picked up his sniper rifle and all the ammunition that he needed, an uzi and his armor, took a pre-emprative painkiller, and set off to get these guys out of his swamp.
-
One man with a sniper and an uzi would only be a speed bump for these men it seemed. The skies were filled with their aircraft and they had armored support. They were currently breaching the wall of dojoville, using their artillery support to strike inside the wall. These looked to be Ordinary men, nothing special about them besides the fact that they were invading.
-
Edited by ookshmook: 2/4/2017 4:43:55 PM"FU#KING TRY ME MATE." Cravis said, through the fourth wall, to pavel, while raising his sniper rifle, inserting a green magasine, and firing a shield - piercing round, non explosive, into the fusilage of an aircraft.
-
The shot pinged off the aircraft, doing nothing but superficial damage, indeed the pilot didn't even noice as he continued his bombing run on a dojo military position.
-
But the round didn't ping off; it stuck in the ship's fusilage, while Cravis took cover.
wait for it...
-
nah bro, it pinged off, even if there was something in that bullet, the force at which it contacted a jet on the verge of going supersonic speeds would have literally disintegrated it.
The jet was long gone as it finished its run and left the AO to rearm and refuel. As he was messing about waiting for an explosion that would never happen it seems that a forward observer had spotted him and called mortar fire onto his position.
-
well its made of some convinent material which doesn't break. And he's used this ability before.
The mortar fire was a close hit, as he was blown onto his back, and sought reposition Meanwhile, as the ship was refueling, a small chip came out of the tiny bullet, and sent a small virus to the mainframe, with a security pass from the ship's landing clearance, to send a small viral package to almost every other aircraft in his group (squadron, unit, whatever their divided into)
-
lol, no such material, but these aren't super advanced sci fi aircraft, your virus would not be able to do much besides listen into their comms, it wouldn't even Prevent them from talking.
The high tech virus found itself trapped with nowhere to go in the single aircraft, as there was no real way for it to transfer itself to anywhere else. The mortars kept coming down as they were unsure how many men were with the sniper, or if he'd been hit or not.
-
so where exactly are they getting their orders from? And I'm pretty sure autopilot is a thing.
The Primery objective done, the chip disintegrated, and Cravis pulled out a small handheld device and checked the trajectories of all the other planes, while the virus, now in all the other planes, began the secondary objective.
-
An awacs, but autopilot is something you can turn off dude, pilots don't like to use it, and never use it in a combat scenario like this.
The virus was only in the one aircraft, having no path to the other aircraft. The aircraft's computer was not advanced enough to interface and network with others. Whoever he was expecting to fight with this, these were not those guys.
-
(Unfortunately, the virus had moved from the comms channels of the other ships, to the headset of the pilots, to the wings)
it can't be off. It can only not currently be used
-
again, not as high tech as you think. And while the auto pilot is disabled it has no control over the aircraft, this is to prevent it from killing the pilot if he's trying to do maneuvers and evade, even when it's on, the pilot's controls overwrite the system.
The virus was isolated.
-
ok, fine, but the HUD the pilot has is connected to the wings, right, so it knows all of the info?
-
Immediately, a thick Japanese accented voice broke through the jets comms, as wherever they were transmitting to as well. "Hello! This is Tesuto, Gatekeeper of the Dojo. What is going on here?! Why are you attacking this place?!" Tesuto asked in a panicked tone.
-
The response was a language that he didn't understand, these invaders weren't from any place he'd heard of before.
-
"Errr. This is...awkward. Excuse me for one moment." Tesuto said way to politely for the given situation. He scanned through his data banks, thanks to him being a computer/organic hybrid. He tried to pinpoint the language and translate the previous words said...
-
Where ever these guys were from, their computer didn't have their language on file, although it did sound Eastern European, it was not any of the standard ones that everyone largely experienced. While he was doing this, the invaders were trying to press their advantage and surprise.
-
"Chikushō...." The samurai muttered to himself. "I would much rather discuss this! We can avoid any more blood shed if we can talk about this!" He said. However, he noticed the press on the village, and made his way up onto the walls of the dojo, and down the walls on the staircase for safety... And surprise if need be.
-
With the air in their control, the invaders were making short work of the guard, any time they ran into a particularly tough spot they simply leveled the building that was giving them trouble. Civilians were largely ignored, which was both a good and bad thing. It was good because the invaders didn't actively target them, and bad because they didn't let the presence of civilians stop their advance.
-
The samurai radioed in once more before he knelt down to study the large group of an advancing force. Scanning their armour, weapons etc. "Once more, why are you here?!" The samurai demanded.
Just need some details on who I'm fighting, care to oblige?
-
The tanks were T-90s, with a few T-72s mixed in, there were BTRS and BMPs that provided support to the infantry. Their weapons were all Russian made, and they wore flack jackets and Kevlar helmets. The best analysis was that they were a 21st century fighting force. However, their attacks seemed to bypass the shields that the dojo forces seemed to rely on heavily, something about their weapons or ammunition allowed this.
-
"Hmmm. Meteorite material...would bypass the shields. Chikushō...such a oversight. Their weapons...Russian made. Are they possibly old earth Ukrainian? But the earth was ravaged by the Lenny forces years ago..." the samurai said to himself. He quickly scanned through his docks, and provided himself the knowledge of the Ukrainian language. He hit the floor of the wall, so that he could remain hidden. He pulled his vambrace up to his face where a holographic display was shown. He connected to the Dojo's radio, which would amplify itself across the village. He spoke English into his arm, but it translated into Ukrainian across all the channels. It was worth a shot to negotiate before he commenced his own attack. However his stats showed that it was nearly a fifty/fifty chance of this actually working.... "Warriors, why you here? Why do you invade our streets and kill our people?" The samurai asked all too politely in Ukrainian.
-
A few looked to each other, Slavic languages were easy to understand if you knew one, but they didn't seem to grasp all of the words. So form this he was able to deduce that they were not Ukrainian, but that their language was Slavic based.
-
The samurai took notice of their response. So he began to go through all known Slavic languages and repeat the same phrase. He started with Russian, then polish, Czech, Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian....
-
The languages all proved to be ineffective, however it seems they got the message somehow. Perhaps piecing together the message after all the languages had been broadcast that they returned. Roughly translated it simply called the dojo soldiers to surrender.
