Q noticed the two moving to intercept (can i get a general direction please? Like from the front, back, left, right, etc) and kept his flight path steady, ready to break into a jagged pattern of ups and downs. He flew low as to confuse tracking, buzzing over the side of the ocean where the naval ships weren't.

They approached from his 3 o'clock, they were getting a lock any second, their electronic support awacs enabling greater missile tracking. They again held fire, broadcasting what could only be a warning in their language, becoming more and more stern.
-
If they had a visual screen for text-based messages, they would have received a crap ton of thumbs down emojis. Anyway, there was no audio response. Just before they managed to get a lock, the ship rapidly began climbing, and flying straight for the two (insert name of plane because i forgot what it was and im using laptop so the thing that sends me to the most recent reply is a different page).
-
They broke formation and split up, tacking up new courses to hit him from his sides again. As he hadn't fired yet they held fire with missiles, they still had tone however.
-
Q frowned, wanting to have shown off. He sighed as he pulled on the controls, going straight up for roughly a kilometer before curving and flying back down upside down at a slow descent. He re-aligned the ship, watching as the two other aircraft were still separated. Going after them one by one was a bad idea, as his ship was less armored from behind. Definitely something he needed to talk to his shipwright about...

The jets didn't have the maneuverability he did, but they had plenty of numbers in the sky, all of mixed manufacturing. Some were SU-33s, others Sau-27s, mig 29s, mig 35s, F-16s, and the odd F-22. They were spread over the battlefield attacking ground targets or maintaining air superiority.
-
Spotting a target he could go for, he increased speed, the rotary autocannons on the front of the ship preparing to fire as he went for a missile lock. From the initial scans he received, he was going after an F-16.
-
The F-16 pilot heard her lock warning system go off and alerted the awacs who in turn alerted the rest of the aircraft in the sky. Three mig 29s broke off from their patrol route, every pilot was looking to become aces. They raced towards the engaging aircraft from the 4 o'clock position. The F-16 began to take evasive maneuvers holding back her flares until the pursuing ship launched missiles.
-
He sighed. "And here I thought today was gonna be boring.." he said as he chuckled. He prepped his flares and continued tailing the F-16, eventually turning on a wide arc and coming at it from it's 9 o'clock, firing his two .50 cal auto-cannons in front of the pilot's flight path.
-
The F-16 pilot saw that he was breaking away and disappeared behind her field of view this caused her to push her nose down and break left to avoid gunfire. A mig 29 switched over to guns while his comrades used missiles, he punched it and pulled a high speed gun run, moving to intercept him before he could readjust his flight path to reengage the F-16 pilot.
-
He grunted, adjusting his path to make a full turn, disengaging from the F-16. He tilted the ship to a 40 degree angle and curved upward at the Mig 29, opening fire with the auto-canons and launching two missiles. They didn't lock on to anything and had the intent of scaring the pilot of the Mig-29. It would be a stroke of pure luck it the missiles made contact.
-
The mig pilot did an aileron roll to avoid the fire. The other two Migs had tone, and if he had it the hostile pilot's lock earring system displayed this. The two Migs fired a volley of air to air missiles to take down their target.
-
Q frowned with frustration. "Not exactly a fair fight.." he said as he yanked the controls, sending him upward rather quickly. He was waiting for the right moment to use his flares, if he even needed them, as he could continue through the atmosphere and into space for a moment if he wanted. Unless the missiles were modified, they wouldn't work in space.
-
hey so, that's a high G maneuver you just pulled, like in excess of what these guys can do, it's fine for the purposes of here in the dojo but just be careful of stuff like that in others.
They were not modified for space, in all actuality, even the planes themselves were not rated of extra-atmosphere. They had no idea a vehicle could move that fast, going from the low flight level over the city, to the upper atmosphere very quickly. The missiles tried to keep up but eventually gravity and fuel limitations meant that they detonated harmlessly.
-
Thanks for telling me what that was called, as I've been wondering that for some time. Also, I don't really plan on using it anywhere else. I'll also use this opportunity to tell you this isn't canon, as my character is still technically on vacation, so this is more for fun rather than anything else.
Q slowed his speed, turning his ship back down as to not fully go into space. He floated in the troposphere for a few minutes, surveying the carnage below and above him unfolding. He sighed. "Can't a fella have one month where an invading army DOESN'T attack where he lives?" he asked no one rhetorically. He eventually re-entered the atmosphere with a boom, diving right for several A-10's which were beginning a bombing run, which he had hoped to have stopped. He began working a missile lock and opened fire with his auto-canons when he got close enough. (There are a few minutes between entering atmosphere and attacking the A-10's from above, because instantly attacking from that height is ridiculous)
-
gotcha, if you haven't noticed I've been trying to avoid killing established characters, but I'm also not making it easy to win against these guys.
The A-10s didn't see him coming, but by the time he could get in lock range they had finished their sortie and climbing to a higher altitude. The slow attack craft were alerted to the lock and relayed the hostile back to the AWACS, again three air superiority fighters broke off from their patrol to intercept. One of the A-10s was hit by his cannon fire but remained airborne, another got hit with one of his missiles, this detonated off his number two engine and crippled his craft, forcing him to bug out before he took anymore damage. The other A-10s scattered an launched flares to defeat the missiles, which fortunately for them, they were able to, although there were a few close calls.
-
He kept after the A-10's, determined to down them as he began firing on them again, still above them but coming close to being at the same altitude.
-
Scattered as they were, he could only get one target. But by this time the Migs had a lock and all three fired missiles, they then switched to guns to close in for the kill.
-
Q quickly launched his missiles while deploying flares, prepping his eject and and gripping the throttle tightly with his one hand, his other hovering above the ejection button. He was nearing Dojoville again, hoping to land somewhere there.
-
His own missiles had one target, which hit the A-10 and caused the pilot to bail out as his jet sped towards the earth in a ball of fire, to plow into the buildings below. Of the three missiles two were defeated by flares and the third struck his craft, his systems showed him what had been damaged.
-
Q grunted. He wasnt going down but he would soon. He turned right, trying to find a park or a field to land in.
-
The battle below had died down, and there were a number of open fields, some had enemy troops others did not, the Migs strafed him with 30mm autocannon fire.
-
He winces as bullets dug into the thicker metal plating, making him uneasy. He tried moving down toward a small park, landing in a smaller clearing with trees all around.
-
The Migs flew overhead and bypassed him. They retained control of the sky.
-
As Q landed, he took off his air pressure mask, taking deep breaths as he wiped his head off with a towel. "Uuhgg... Shoulda stayed on vacation.."
