Win the award for being an idiot kid. Tf2 Can actually stand for both games so quit being a twat

Edited by burritosenior: 2/7/2017 2:34:38 AMA few things. 1. Thread maker, you post is utterly ridiculous. Calm the -blam!- down it is not that big of an issue. 2. It doesn't matter what pops up in Google firdt when you type in TF2 folks. Google shows the results for a search most clicked on. Titanfall 2 is a new game, therefore it will come up before Team Fortress. 3. If Team Fortress was TF2 then it still is. That doesn't mean another game can't be. While in my opinion it would make more sense to call Titanfall something like TFl2 or TTF2 or something simply to avoid any confusion (because it is also utterly ridiculous to insist on a acronym just out of spite), it can be whatever and still not change the abbreviation of Team Fortress. So I guess what I'm getting at in the end is... who cares calm down people.

*googles tf2* Debate solved.
-
Nope, it now means Titanfall 2.
-
No tf2 is tittyfall 2 .
-
Yeah it was a good game about 10years ago. Time to move on.
-
Triggered and butt hurt. Well done!
-
-
go back to your hat fortress 2, source engine games suck and the engine is an ancient, buggy pile of shit.
-
TF2=Titanfall2 in my eyes because I've never played team fortress
-
It's both. GET OVER IT!
-
I get very confused on these forums. I always think "oh snap a post about team fortress 2" then it's titanfall 2. Not saying it's a bad game, but it's nowhere near as good as team fortress 2.
-
TF2 in a Titanfall 2 post means "Titanfall 2". TF2 in a Team Fortress 2 post means "Team Fortress 2". Don't put "TF2" in the post's name otherwise people will be confused. Getting angry over a silly topic like this is pointless.
-
Edited by KiIIShift: 2/6/2017 4:40:27 AMIt's similar to the whole GoW abbreviation. It's not even that big a deal. I'm sure if you actually read the post you'll know which game someone is talking about
GoW is Gears for me 😝
-
Agreed. Also Mw2 = MechWarrior 2 not that call of duty shit show And Bnet = battle.net
-
No. No abbreviation can be locked in to only defining one thing. Language is largely abstract, and the same abbreviation can have and often does have different meanings depending on the context. So long as the context is established, you can use whichever abbreviation you like. If you make a post about titanfall 2 and then use TF2, it is established that you are not talking about team fortress 2 and therefore is correct. Same with the vice versa. The only time that titanfall should not receive the abbrieviation TF2 is when both games are being discussed in the same context. In this situation, the op should define which context is for each one, so not to confuse he audience (ex: writing "team fortress 2 (TF2) is fun, but so is titanfall 2(TTF2). By doing this, there is no room for confusion, and you can establish the use of whatever abbreviation you'd like.

TF2= Titanfall 2.
-
To be fair its not a cemented official acronym so its left to social interpretation. I love playing northstar in tf 2.
-
No one cares about team fortress 2. Titanfall 2 is the superior game in all regards TF2 = Titanfall 2
-
That game was trash so no one cares. I'll keep saying TF2 = Titanfall 2
