About this whole bladedancer nerf and everyone crying about it makes me realize how this community has little critical thinking skills.
Lets think about this. What kills a bladedancer most while trying to kill a guardian?
A shotgun critical blast to your head/melee and a lot of the times it doesnt work.
So. Now that shotguns will barely have ammo and they can't critical.. What stops a bladedancer from swiping a whole team in close proximity(They are very hard to team shoot) blinking and or double jumping and on top of that regent health every kill.(Unlike the cool down on the similar sunbreaker perk)
Point is with all the changes to the crucible sandbox Bungie saw a potential problem and everyone should actually start looking at this for what it is: an indirect bladedancer buff because now it will be significantly harder to shut you down(same with stormcaller and sunbreaker)

Luck in the chamber. Coincidentally, Xur is selling Hawkmoon.
-
Okay lets say you are correct and this fine balance team is spot on and has clearly identified a source of trouble. That source is what? A roaming super.....You see where I am going by now right clear thinker? How about storm caller what is gonna stop that roamer from doing the same from more distance? Oh yes I didn't forget the sunbreaker the as it has been called blade dancer on steroids. How hard it it to shut down this fire ball with shields? Maybe it isn't us that has a hard time using our own minds but we just think clearly.

I don't think the bladedancer change will be nearly as bad as people are saying. The truth is, things that killed you before (shotgun melee/super) will still kill you regardless and every other way will remain inconsistent at best. I see it as a small change, but it seems I'm in the minority with this viewpoint.

forgot less special ammo , so also going be harder to shut down the blade dancers, but with nerf , there not going be god like with the less ammo that teams get , remember now everytime you die no special ammo , and those special boxes less range , and even with the minute timer people will camp them and pop them fast , so there be times were half of a team never get specials .

Edited by Dooodley: 2/10/2017 11:46:24 AMThings we ignore ITT: * Special ammo crates are now on a 60 second timer * People were already flocking around ammo crates the second they spawned * Shinobi's will most likely get nerfed too, giving people no reason to play the subclass * BD was by no means an outlier * Did you ctually watch the shotgun range? It's still over the top. The only reason it may seem a tad worse when you play is because you're not in a closed test enviroment. You are playing people all over the planet - resulting in latency, which ultimately leave you in situations where it feels like you got mapped by a shotty.

Edited by Combo164: 2/10/2017 6:32:52 AMWhat will stop a blade dancer? Team shooting (even if you claim they're too hard to kill) FoH Nova bomb Golden gun Sunbreaker (suncharge >blade. Heck a simple hammer toss > blade) Supression grenade Stormcaller Shadow shot Hell you can skate or blink away from a blade dancer Just because shotguns arent going to be in play as often doesnt mean blade will suddenly dominate. Its not like blade dancers were impossible to kill without a super or shotgun. I dont see how this is in anyway a potential buff especially when they stated the change was made because it was annoying to see someone nearly die in arc blade only to regen health = the upcoming nerf will make it less annoying. The change was honestly pointless since no one has ever complained about it and trying to justify it just because of the special ammo change is just a lame excuse, just like when no one had a problem with tripmines sticking to people, but when it gets changed suddenly people want to try and justify the change as if the previous state was an issue. Heck and dont get me started with the fact that they're nerfing the class and didnt mention anything to fix the short stopping or attack delay after blink during blade dance. So dont say shotguns are a key aspect for shutting down a arc blade. I've been killed/shutdown via all the methods above, even shutdown because of the stupid delay on striking after blink.

My Brain is mush always had been

They have all the stats... They should have shown stats like they did with weapons. Blade dancer needed a fix more than a nerf. I am not argumentative about the subject... but it is a fact. For a class that has the lowest armor/recovery perks and was designed around distance and precision.... it is odd that they have a super that demands you to get up in everyone's "grill"... and now they took that away. Killing a blade dancer will be way too easy now. Oh well... it's not my game. I just play it. We shall see how it all plays next week.
-
Even if the super did improve without the nerf, it would have been ok Blade dancer/sun singer were easily the two weakest pvp classes
-
While I get your point, this is something Bungie could have easily explained knowing that most of the community never asked for a bladedancer nerf. Of course people are going to react negatively to a change they never asked for and which remains unexplained.
-
i don't think it was a nerf to Bladedancers, though i guess it's up to the players. it's a weird change though
-
Dammit man. Stop making sense!
-
I don't see the issue really. With how it was worded it now instantly restores a portion of your health and shield on a kill every time you get a kill, no cooldown. What's so bad about that?

Edited by xKCz: 2/10/2017 12:32:18 PMSo um, wait! Does the shotgun/special nerfs mean that Peregrine Grieves will become extremely viable? ohnoez!!!!!!111!!2
-
Totally agree 100% I prefer blade over anything else. And if you manage to kill them then pop ur blade on them they'll have no special. Too me it seems like this will be a good patch.
-
Blah blah blah. So they wipe a team. It's a super for -blam!- sake. It should be powerful. If an entire team is sitting on b and allows themselves to be nuked by a single super they deserve to die. The big picture is this game as devolved big time. Remove every effing nerf and go back. Yes, go back to thorn, Suros and vex being monsters. Go back to putting a rocket into the face of an ArcBlader and they eat it. Go back to Sunsinger having the old firebolts. Go back to sunbreaker tanking everything. This made the game fun. Too many cry babies nowadays. If they unnerfed everything and gave me "classic Destiny" I'd play again...It's quite sad to think about what this game has become...
-
Yes look at the big picture. The devs obviously don't play this game. They do like controlling what is used by merging dumbshit and buffing nothing. They are lazy and greedy. This game is the biggest joke in the gaming business and the engine it runs on is xbox360 compatible engine. Therefore it is trash. Big picture the social aspect is why most people play this game. Big picture I wish blizzard developed this game. As long as everyone continue to play this game (like now while it's dead) they will have no incentive to change in destiny 2.

Edited by briosheje: 2/10/2017 11:51:41 AM
So. Now that shotguns will barely have ammo and they can't critical..
Except universal remote, which is also a primary (and chaperone, but let's forget it for a second since ammos might be a problem).
What stops a bladedancer from swiping a whole team in close proximity
Well, pretty much everything, so why even having shotguns in game if they are not meant to kill in close proximity? I do get what you want to say, however it is quite evident (to me) that most of the great pvp shotgunners does NOT use bladedancers. You need to be fast, you don't need to have a dumb blink that most of the times puts you in a situation where you don't want to be or just teleports you in front of your enemy but takes you half a second to be able to shoot once again. I don't really think that bladedancers needed to be touched, they were just fine where they actually where, there are tons of things that can kill them, including other supers, teamshooting, shotguns, fusion rifles.. Literally everything can kill them exactly like everything can kill any other guardian: I feel it's far easier hitting a bladedancer rather than a fast moving titan, as a very basic example.
-
The way to counter hungering blade is to shoot them while they are regening. Aka use a primary
-
Good point. Does it hurt it even worse in pve?
-
I think a lot of the complaints about this are more because BD was already the weakest Hunter class and 2nd weakest super in the game next to Radiance. Why nerf a class that has already been neutered?
-
Play Overwatch.
-
Cue the Nova-Bomb or Titan Smash. Tradedancer is weak besides Q.D and Skips.
-
Fusion Rifle Plan C will be the new go to special slot lol. Also Give us y3 Mithoclast!
-
With the new change to special ammo the chance of you having a counter to a blade is small. Maby thats why they nerfed it. It would have been the new hunter meta maby.
-
Still not gonna stop shotgun/melee.
