Okay so as some of you know I found some rust in my Porsche. I'm at a standstill right now it till I decide what to do. I'm a fan of rwd convertibles and my top two choices for those are the Mazda Miata and the Honda S2000. The 914s been on my list too and it's a fun Car but it'll be a long road to get that car to where it needs to be. I'm debating on selling it and getting something else. The s2000 would be nice but they're too pricey. However for 914 money I could get a decent Miata. The Miata would be cheaper to toy around with than the 914, take less time and I could spend more time enjoying it. Plus Miatas have endless aftermarket support and I could do some cool stuff like turbo it.
Anyway what are your thoughts on fixing rust vs buying a Miata?

Edited by Zonda: 2/12/2017 11:15:06 AMThe Mazda will be the better decision from a value for money standpoint, but I'd expect you to prefer the 914 regardless. Hell I'd be better off financially if I went for an old MX-5 compared to importing the Hachi I want, but that ain't stopping me from going for the objectively less valuable, more expensive car. Miatas now are where AE86s were 20 years ago tbh. Easily one of the best fun for money cars you can get, depending on application.
