"I will tell you after you answer my question."
Kross said, turning around to face the woman in the rather small room
"What happened to Cerberus?"
English

"Cerberus...died out after the apparent killing of the Illusive Man. But if you knew what he was, you'd know he had a backup plan. Someone somehow downloaded his conscience into an AI, and a childhood friend of mine took full control of Cerberus. Part of the new group left to some planet called Meizhong, where I think the Illusive Man is hiding. The part that stayed became more like how they were before, destroying everything on all sides of the political spectrum before hiding. Why did you want to know, by the way?" She explains, then asks Kross.

"The new Cerberus is planning on Assassinating the crew of the Deirmos. Along with any surviving Normandy crew."
-
"New Cerberus? Did he give any name as to who it was leading them?" She asked, worrying about them.
-
"An Asari woman I believe. I don't fully recall. "
-
"Asari? I thought Cerberus didn't exactly trust aliens." She says, scratching her head in confusion.
-
"Someone took over. Through force. They don't have to be trusted."
-
"I may have some idea on who's behind this...although last time I remembered, she was transferred to an Alliance prison on Feros. I also...remember her attempt to turn me." Valeria thought out loud, shivers coming to at the memories.
-
"The Illusive Man warned that they may try assassinating you."
-
"The Illusive Man? If he's the one to warn a random person like you...then he could be telling the truth. I still have contacts with one of the Normandy's crew once in a while. She was working with the Alliance's 5th fleet. Maybe we could tell her to spread the warning. Also...I was one of the Alliance agents who'd help hide the Illusive Man's AI core...though I didn't do it willingly, let's say." She explains, as she inspects the Carnifex pistol attached to her hip.
-
"Is that relevant? It doesn't matter now that he's returned."
-
"Right. But how do we know that he's just doing this to return Cerberus to its former glory? I don't know...we can't stop both of them at once, it'll be too dangerous. The crew dosen't know about Cerberus's return, and neither does the Normandy crew...'least not yet." She responds, pulling out an old Cerberus probe
-
"There will always be time to battle Cerberus. The threat we may face with its copy is immediate. "
-
"Right. I may know someone who can help, but she has as much of a target on her back as we do. We'll have to take the Deimos and a few other ships first, though. Dojo ships, preferably." She replies, fidgeting with the old probe.
-
Kross nodded slightly "It will be done. "

Edited by A Stormy Dio: 2/16/2017 5:37:57 PM"Can your ships handle mass relays? I'm just asking...I don't want the entire fleet decimated before we go to where I remember last hearing them from. Also...we might need Cryark to join us. If we are to get to finding the Normandy and the rest of our old crew, we'll have to get the Dojo to ally with both the turians and Alliance." She says to Kross. "And maybe we'll find this copycat Cerberus along the way. We'll also have the Republics to deal with. They might take notice and take Citadel and Wasteland space if we don't watch ourselves."
-
"Our ships will handle the relays. However, I'm not entirely sure how many ships we can spare. The guard has been... Shut down."
-
"I heard. All we need is someone who won't immediately try to shoot anyone in Alliance space. We might need a few ships in case Cerberus comes in...or maybe for the Alliance to arm them with more of our recent equipment." She responds, placing the old probe next to her. "I guess you'd want to know more about this fake Cerberus, huh?" She asks, her face turning into that of a more...depressed look.
-
"If possible, yes, but I will not force you to speak. "
-
"Yeah...before I rejoined the Alliance...I was kidnapped. Cerberus Phantoms had gotten me during a patrol mission on Noveria." She responds, pulling off her Alliance top, just showing her bra. Multiple massive slash scars were seen across her back, as she puts the top back on. "My torturer used to be an old childhood friend of mine. Tortured me for Alliance information and possible new designs for weapons for...I'll say about three months. Only one who was actually nice to me about the entire thing was an old doctor; she and I tried to get away when the Alliance's 7th Fleet attacked them. The torturer escaped, doctor died from gunshot, and I was the only prisoner to get out of there. I could give you the name of that woman, although I don't know if it could help." She responds, tears slowly starting to form in her eyes.
-
"I'm sorry that happened... Truly"
-
"Yeah..." was all she could respond, starting to full on cry from the memories of it flooding back to her.
-
Kross, being Kross, embraced her into a hug awkwardly
-
She pretty much squeezed Kross with her hug, as her sobbing slowly stopped.
-
"It's okay.... They can't hurt you anymore."
-
She simply shook her head, continuing to sob until she eventually calmed down. While all this happened, of course, Cryark was in the shadows, giving some sort of saddened look. He personally didn't want her memories of this instance to be more brutal than what he saw just now. He had talked about his own personal experience with Watcher...whom he'd heard had died. His own memories surfaced as well, almost blowing his cover. ------------------------------------------ (Anubis Station, over Virmire, Hoc System, Sentry Omega) (Around June, 2015) The turian seemed almost frightened on what's to come. He was returning to fighting Cerberus, albeit with the Turian military fully involved in helping them. Someone seemed to nudge him on the shoulder, and when turning, he saw an Alliance soldier looking at him. He put a hand on the turian's back, calming him down. "Hey, calm down Cryark! We're gonna get your friend out of there!" The soldier replied, seemingly trying to get him to calm down. "I'm alright..." he says, controlling his breathing, "Thanks." "It's alright man! We're gonna get your friend out of here, and then we'll have us some grub! I know this fancy restaurant down in Eden Prime, serves dextro-amino and human food." The private Alliance officer had happily replied, as the familiar thud of the Kodiak they were in was heard. "Alright people! You know the drill! DEUS VULT!" A random captain said, joining the fray of Alliance and turian forces engaging Cerberus troops along the hangar. "Let's do this!" Yelled Cryark and the private, as they too joined the attack. The two were seemingly laughing, enjoying taking down Cerberus. The two often looked to each other, smiling as they were reloading their guns. Cryark happened to look at the private, who seemed to be smiling while his shooting his M-8 Avenger. This was before, of course, a sniper shot pierced straight through his shields and went straight through the Alliance soldier's brain. ----------------------------------------- Due to this, Cryark nearly screamed in pain from that one part of the worst day of his life... but held it in for Valeria.
