Why? When I can more than likely buy a much cheaper console that will play the exact same games (minus VR exclusives). I want to play games Xbox, I don't want to be caught up in a mid gen dick measuring contest.

1 ReplyIt'll be too late to make much difference this generation. I think it'll be too expensive, and it'll be handicapped like the Pro in the fact that (unless they change things) all games will have to run on the original XB1. Microsoft needs to focus on exclusives instead of another piece of hardware.

Edited by moist nana: 2/15/2017 10:16:03 PMWell the whole reason for these mid cycle console refreshes is the fact that 4k gaming and VR gaming have suddenly become a thing. PS is already ahead of the game in that regard, now Xbox have to catch up on 2 fronts. I hope the Scorpio sells well, Xbox has been lacking a bit in first-party support, even after Scorpios release they've got alot of catching up to do in the games department, buuut they say there working on Fallout VR, which is definatly something im interested in.

Its main and really only selling point is 4K. I don't need 4K right now. I can buy a cheaper version of the Xbox and still play the exact same games minus the VR exclusives.

4 RepliesI don't think so. They lost that battle a long time ago. There are still nearly twice as many ps4's out there compared to Xbox1's. I think this is an attempt to start fresh, basically a new generation.

Not with sales, but it will be much higher quality than anything PlayStation has. I know all games won't run 4k native, but I assume every arcade game will and some higher quality titles. I think they may be able to push Forza into 4k if it can manage 1080p 60fps on the Xbox one.

Unless Scorpio is rocking native 4K on ALL games, it won't do squat. If it does manage that, it might make a small dent in that gap. I'm still sad that Scalebound was scrapped. I was hoping to buy it with a Scorpio at launch.
