There was nothing; No woman, no noise source, nothing. Just a rush of wind, and a small rustling of some leaves off to the side of the Gates, where Emma stood. It seemed that whoever - or whatever - interacted with Emma, it was toying with her. Whether that is good or bad, that's to be determined.

She twirls around quickly on her feet and starts to walk away from the gates. "Damn invisible, b*stards...." Em keeps checking on her motion sensors for any readings.
-
The sensors picked up multiple people, then... Nothing? It came sporadically, one second there would be three people, then five, then none at all. The bushes though, they always stayed constantly jiggling.
-
Em spins around with no hesitation and suddenly throws an arc grenade into the bush before firing two rounds into it as well. "Boom. Found you."
-
The thing that made the noise was a simple tree branch, floating about like it was suspended there, though by what exactly is unknown. "Boo!" A voice playfully shouted from behind Emma.
-
Em spins around rapidly and pistol whips whatever she sees behind her while also sweeping her leg. "God damnit! You scared me!"
-
The pistol whip was avoided by a lean backwards, although the sweep was rewarded with the woman falling backwards and landing on the dirt beneath, ass first. She winced in pain and adopted a grimace onto her angular, olive face whilst standing up, before dusting off the light green robe she bore. "Aw, you never hear of a joke?"
-
Em sighs and laughs lightly before holstering her secondary. She gets into a more comfortable stance and stretches her arms a bit. "Oh, it's just a girl. I thought this was some sort of test or something."
-
"No, I'm a scholar, not a fighter - That JT guy or Treyman, they're fighters." The woman chuckled and looked to Emma, with a set of golden eyes that gave off a slight twinkle as the sun's light radiantly shined down on the area, bouncing off her eyes. "I'm Jacqui - Jacqui Rosegold."
-
Emma's blue visor reflected some of the sun's light into Jacqui's eyes while she extended a hand out for Jacqui to shake. Her helmet showed no emotion, but her voice sounded friendly through her speakers. "I'm Emma - Emma Gretzky. I came here thinking I needed to take a test to get in."
-
"Well you don't need a test to enter, per se, as much as you need one to fight people." Jacqui didn't extend her hand in response, rather she opted for a polite bow to Emma, as was customary in her homeland.
-
Emma takes back her hand with slight confusion before shallowly bowing back to Jacqui, unsure of what to do. "Oh, so I can enter? I guess the story I heard was wrong then."
-
"Of course, go on in. The gates are push, not pull, so be mindful when entering and exiting."
-
She chuckles lightly and bows shallowly again before heading to the gates and pushing them open. "Thank you, Miss Rosegold."
-
"No pro- WHAT THE -blam!- IS THAT THING?!" Jacqui shouted ininquiry, just noticing the massive Titan that stood nearby.
-
Emma instantly pulls out her Kraber and points it at everything behind her before relaxing. She lowers her weapon and looks over at Jacqui. "There's nothing there."
-
Visions faded and reemerged in the mind of Jacqui, before fading out one last time. "Ugh, damn sickness is -blam!-ing with my vision."
-
Emma places her hand on Jacqui's shoulder and speaks with genuine concern. "Are you okay? I think you should sit down."
-
"Oh, no, it's nothing," Jacqui insisted, shaking her head and looking to the ground. She looked back up to Emma a moment later, having collected her statements. "It's a sickness, comes from going home too much."
-
"Coming home? Talking about home sickness...." Emma shakes her head and sighs. "Sorry, terrible joke."
-
"Well when you literally break reality, you tend to miss home," Jacqui jokingly responded, her voice indicating a half truth. She didn't break reality, though it looked like she was bending it when opening portals.
-
She laughs lightly and gestures to the open gates with her Kraber's barrel. "I think I'm going to enter now. Do you mind showing me around, Miss Rosegold?"
-
"I'd love to. What would you like to see first - The courtyards, or the bar?"
-
Emma nods and wraps an arm around Jacqui's shoulder while the other slung her rifle over her back. "Show me the bar and I think we'll be the best of friends."
-
"That's a logic I can get behind. Just don't let me drink too much, alright?" Jacqui wrapped her arm around the back of Emma's waist and started walking. It was customary for her to do that, as her homeland dictated it to be a gesture of care and goodwill.
-
Emma walks beside Jacqui while laughing a bit and tightening her grip around her shoulders. "I think we should be worried about me drinking too much. How about we watch each other, ay? I'd rather not have a repeat of the last time I went into a bar."
