2.5.0.2 brought with it 'revolutionary' changes to the Crucible. Primaries have surfaced in the Crucible in an unprecedented manner. It's fantastic being more competitive with my Auto Rifles.
The change to the Special Ammo economy was two steps in the right direction and one step back, in the wrong direction.
There are pros and cons. The pros including a high usage of primary weapons. The cons include the overuse of Sidearms and negative impact on weapons such as the Fusion Rifle, Sniper and Shotgun (which have been severely impacted by the 2.5.0.2 update).
The idea I am proposing could work and provide a way for other Special Weapons (not Sidearms) to become more viable in terms of ammo economy and benefit overall usage.
The Proposed Idea
You spawn with Special Ammo as normal. Upon death you lose your reserve ammo and respawn with the amount of ammo left in your magazine. Special Ammo crates will spawn at the previous time of 9 seconds after pick up.
(I will use a Thesan FR4 as an example. NB: My Thesan FR4 has Braced Frame).
This is how it'll work:
• You spawn with ammo like always. Four shots in the magazine, two in reserve.
• Upon death I lose my reserve ammo but retain the ammo in my magazine.
• I am left with four fusion shots. Say for example I use two, leaving two in magazine. Then I am killed in Crucible.
• When I respawn, I retain the two shots left.
• I then might pick up more special ammo giving me four in the magazine, four in reserve.
• Upon death I lose my reserve but retain the four in my magazine.
Let me know what you think about my idea that I am proposing. Would it work? Why? Why not?
Cheers.

Seems decent enough. If that's still too much special, I propose the following. Starting special ammo: Sidearm/Lord of Wolves: 30 shots Fusion: 5 shots Shotgun: 4 shots Sniper: 4 shots Chest special ammo (chests spawn every 2 min): Sidearm/LOW: 30 shots Fusion: 3 shots Shotgun: 3 shots Sniper: 2 shots Max special ammo: Sidearm/LOW: 60 shots All others: 9 shots Amount of special ammo available is severely curtailed, making it problematic to use a special as a primary. But freshly killed and respawned Guardians are not at the same deadly disadvantage as they otherwise would face.
