"Wait what?!" He asked rhetorically as he followed her.
The mines were narrow and dark, and the electricity from the blade have the two a small circle of yellow light around them. Drops of liquid could be heard dripping from the ceiling as the two continued into the dark....
"Please don't be a jump scare, please don't be a jump scare...."

Lyn nods in agreement and sticks close to Alex. "Y-Yeah, that wouldn't be pleasant."
-
"Like next thing you know the low creepy music is going to start." He said with a shiver.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=iqNVIpVpT60
Then, the two began to hear voices. They were quiet and sounded like they were in the distance.
-
Lyn hugs Alex tightly and starts to shake. "This was a bad idea..."
-
He looked down on her as he kept moving. "Ya well what else is new?" He said more to himself. He raised his blade around to illuminate the area, when he saw Something. "Wait...what is that?" He asked as he moved his blade closer to the subject in question. This revealed, a corpse. It was a month old and the stench reeked. It had three lacerations going from its shoulder to hip, all proportionally placed. Dried blood was all around him and his eyes were lifeless but filled with fear. "Oh god..."
-
She looks away and buries her face in Alex's shoulder. "Oh my....Please, d-don't tell me we're going to keep going."
-
"And let more people die? No way in hell." He said. "Let me check out the body. Could let us know what we're up against." Alex knelt down in front of the corpse. He pried his fingers into the cuts and checked the body for any clues. "From far away it looks like an animal, but the cuts are way too damn clean. This guy was cut up by steel, rusty steel. You can see that through the middle of the cuts where the rust broke off. It was painful but he was killed nearly instantly. Also the cuts didn't actually go too deep, but he still bled out in seconds." He stood up after his deduction. "No creature or demon did this. This had to be done by a person. That or someone who's possessed."

Lyn sighs and keeps her eyes closed with one hand on the hilt of her blade. "I hate the dark."
-
"Same. Let's keep moving and try to keep your eyes open for something. Don't want whatever got to this poor bastard pouncing on us." The two continued down the mine shaft when They heard the scurrying of feet. Alex aimed his blade at the source but it revealed nothing, but Lyn saw something in the darkness. A pair of two tiny glowing orbs that were equally proportionate to one another....
-
Lyn takes a step back and tightens her grip on her sword. "Alex, what is that?"
-
He turned to what she gestured to. "I have no-" He was interrupted as the red eyes pounced, revealing a skinny man with large steel claws on his fingers leaping at Alex. The warrior instinctively thrusted the massive blade into his attackers chest and thrusted him into the wall. The man continued to claw at Deity with ferocity as the ashen haired swordsman held him in place. "LYN! HELP PLEASE!"
-
She screams and jumps back for a second before charging forward with her blade to stab the man in the head. She attempts to stab it through the skull several times. "WHAT IS IT?!"
-
The figure went limp and its claws Rested on Alex's shoulders. He unsheathed his blade and the corpse fell to the ground. "A fucking jumpscare!" The man had a gas mask on and dark clothing, the red eyes on the mask were glowing red.
-
Lyn yells before stabbing it repeatedly again and again. "Stay down! Stay! Down!"
-
"Whoa, whoa! Calm down Lyn!" Alex said as he gripped her shoulders to calm her down.
-
She stabs it one more time before sheathing her sword and turning to Alex with an expression of fear and anger. "I-I'm fine."
-
"Ya...of course you are." He said sarcastically. "We're fine. Okay? We're still here."
-
Lyn nods before leaping into a hug with Alex. "I-I hate the d-dark..."
-
"Ya. It's kind of a bitch. But we still gotta keep going, these people are counting on us."
-
"Yeah, okay. L-Lead the way, Alex. I can still fight, but I swear if every mission is going to be in the dark then I'm done."
-
"Ha! No way in hell am I doing these kinds of missions ever again. Let's keep moving." The two continued down the path, and the liquid on the ceiling continued to drip. But Lyn noticed something that should have been blatantly obvious before... There were no diamonds to be seen. Anywhere.
-
Lyn looks around at the walls and ceiling. "Hey, where are the diamonds? We're here for diamonds, right? I was hoping to see some sparkly rocks while we were here."
-
"Ya...its weird we haven't seen any yet." He said with a sense of worry. "We better not be shit outta luck..." The two continued down the dark path when they saw something ahead, a dim light. As they continued on the cave turned into a rocky hallway which lead to an old wooden door where the light crept from.
-
Lyn sighs in relief and smiles at the sight. "Light!"
-
"Wouldn't be so eager yet Ripley." He called Lyn. "Considering what we've seen...I don't think we're at the end of the tunnel yet." He approached the door, and put his hand up against it. He turned to Lyn and slowly nodded, looking for her confirmation to enter.
-
Lyn gestures to keep going with a confused and curious expression. "I'm Lyn not Ripley. Who's Ripley?"
