"Faster! Come on, you can do it!"

"Ya ya I got it!" Alex yelled as he continued to sprint, the sweat on his face actually washing off the blood from the fight. The liquid continued to burst and Lyn saw that the entire mineshaft was filling up behind them....
-
Lyn had too little energy to show much emotion, but she was scared of the liquid. "Alex..."
-
"I'm going okay?!" He yelled. He continued to push on, tired. He stumbled and tripped, but he kept Lyn on his back. "Shit!"
-
Lyn grunts when he trips and sighs. "Maybe you should leave me."
-
"Ya right!" He said, almost as if he was insulted. "We're getting out of here! Both of us!" He stood back up, the liquid pooling at his feet as he began to dash once more. There was light up ahead, the exit of the mineshaft. Alex sprinted up the passage and jumped out of the entrance, collapsing outside with Lyn falling beside him.
-
Lyn lies there, gasping for breath because she had been holding it out of fright. "That....was....AWESOME! When is round two?!" She giggles and looks over at Alex with a large smile.
-
"You know I was hoping it would've been a giant boulder rather then a shit ton of cannibal evil liquid." He responded with baited breath. He looked behind him and tilted his head to see that the entire village was standing there, looking at the scene. The dark liquid had filled up till the edge of the mine shaft, making entrance impossible.
-
Lyn sits up and looks around. "Well, I guess we won't be getting any diamonds."
-
"No...no won't." Alex said as he stood up. He offered his hand to Lyn to help her up, as the village stood and looked at the two, and the mine. The elderly woman stepped forward, her hands to her face as tears streamed down her old cheeks.
-
Lyn takes Alex's hand and stands up. She attempts to brush some blood and debris off of her clothing and armor. She looks over at the lady with a small. "Hello, elder."
-
The elder walked up, and the villagers followed. Tears streamed down her face, and Alex seemed on edge. "Shit...we need to go now Rip-" Then, the elder embraced Lyn. It was surprising and she was smiling, crying tears of joy. She was mumbling in some different language as she pointed towards the mine. Alex raised an eyebrow and approached the mineshaft. He scooped up some of the black liquid and lifted it to his nose. "Holy shit..." he said to himself before turning to Lyn. "It's oil!" He exclaimed.
-
Lyn happily hugs the older woman back softly and turns her head to Alex with a look of confusion. "Oil? I don't get what's the big deal. That stuff is useless."
-
"Not to a planet that's just entered its industrial revolution..." he said, flicking the oil off his hands. "These people are about to become some of the highest paid workers on this planet. I'm going to make some calls and see if I can kick off operations here." He looked to Lyn, seeing that she might be confused. "I can sell this oil here to fuel cars like the one we drove in. It'll be a step towards building a community here and get these people out of their slum."
-
Lyn shrugs, not fully understanding the fuss. "I don't know how useless sludge will make these people happy and rich, but by all means go ahead. Hey, when are we getting back exactly?"
-
"I'd say we're good to go now." He said, gesturing to the old lady. "Until she lets you go anyways." He added with a smile.
-
Lyn looks at the lady and smiles as well. "Elder, I think I should be going..."
-
The lady let go of Lyn. And nodded in thanks. The two hometown heroes made their way to the vehicle and the village cheered after them as they drove away...
The end!
ASSETS GAINED
Gellidius mining operation(Ten million monthly)-10 Years estimated life time
