"Excellent!" The group stopped in front of the massive tower that seemed to reach into the heavens. Leaning on the gates that led inside was a single man, a Knight https://imgur.com/YbyNpch He grunted as the group approached and a laugh escaped his lips
-
"Let me take a guess, you are going to try and kill us too?"
-
"I do not waste my energy on petty squabbles such as this."
-
"Then, why are you here? I'm guessing it's not to just laugh at everyone that passes by here"
-
"The thought of a death is an alluring one when you are Undead. Wouldn't you agree, Ash?"
-
"I would not know. Though if one seeks peace in the afterlife, I am willing to assist those" Ash's dress stained with a charred substance from her injury stood staring at the knight with her bright yellow eyes. She didn't seem particularly uncomfortable from her wound but it was still noticeable on her clothing.
-
"Hm... Perhaps what you see in the tower will change your thinking." The Knight got off the gates, and stepped to the side. "Only a single person is granted entrance. Ash."
-
Amari looked at the knight with her hand on one of her pistols. "And what if I decided to shoot you out right here and we all just walked right by?"
-
"Than you would all fall."
-
"Your bluffing"
-
"Go ahead. Enter. You shall see what happens for yourself." The Knight's voice was deadtone, completely serious but also not. It was hard to tell
-
".... fine but if things go too far I'll be making sure there isn't even an island when I'm through with the place. You alright with this Ash?" "I believe so. Besides, at worst it will be a while before I can come back to the world of the living" Ash approached the entrance peering in, unsure what to expect.
-
She couldn't see very clearly, it looked dark if anything.
-
"Is somebody there? Anyone?" Ash looked around the tower curious why it had to be her and her alone.
-
As she entered the clock tower, the gates closed behind her and seemed to lock. Then, everything went black. Chapter Five: Reality's Disarray Ash awoke to find herself in a.... In a bed? As if everything prior had just been a dream. But that wasn't possible... Was it? The sound of running water was heard from outside the bedroom
-
Ash got up confused and look around, eventually she started walking to see what was going on. She reached out for her scythe for protection.
-
It wasn't there, in fact everything felt different in some way. She found herself wearing sweat pants, and a loose button down tee shirt. Upon exiting the small room, she entered a small living room like area with an opening into a kitchen. In the kitchen, oddly enough was Royal? Who seemed to be cooking something
-
"I was told you were kidnapped" She said staring in disbelief. "We came to an island. What is all this?"
-
Royal turned to her, smiling "Kidnapped? Did you have another one of those nightmares sweetheart?" Wait. Sweetheart? Something was wrong... Very wrong
-
"What? Sweetheart? You're acting strange. None of this makes sense" Ash visibly was confused. She only knew Royal as the warrior which made this all the more strange to witness.
-
He laughed slightly "Strange? Is it strange that I'm calling the woman I love, sweetheart?" This had to be a dream. Right? Maybe it wasn't...
-
"Where... am I?"
-
"The dojo of course! Where else would you be?"
-
She looked out the window, wondering if there really was the dojo outside. "Well... at least it's a nice dream. I don't know what to think about this though"
-
Sure enough, outside the window was the main dojo courtyard. She had to find a way out. But what was it?
