Xbox has recently released a new Xbox One service into the Alpha Test for Xbox Insiders titled, "Xbox Game Pass" which can be shared with all members on that Xbox, gives access to 100+ games a month for $10 a month
What do you guys think about it? Games like Halo 5 and Payday 2 are confirmed as well.
-
I think this is funny as shit. This is essentially going to destroy GameStop. I hope all you console players don't buy games there.
-
Did anyone else see GameStop's stock drop when this was announced?
-
Really good idea. Especially for gamers who recently took a long break, realizing there's a few select games they wanted to try but never bought. So they'd get to try a few out for 10 bucks. Not bad at all.
-
I think it's pretty cool. It's basically just Xbox Netflix. It also will help give exposure to games that many people would have never heard of otherwise, just as the Games with Gold program is doing.
-
I think it's a great idea, even if there's only a couple games on there you want to try it's pretty cheap for a month. Can't believe some people think it's dumb, I don't see any reason for it.
-
Great for consumers, probably not so much for the industry considering how little musicians make from music streaming services.
-
I find this kind of funny. 5-6 years ago, a lot of people predicted that the future of gaming would be subscription services for games, that this was the way the industry would move as it seemed more profitable. Its a bit funny that things are actually moving in this direction.
-
Yeah thats what I need, to pay even more money to play video games. The last thing I want is another paid subscription to something
-
I personally won't be using it, but I know a lot of people who will. It's seems more convenient than renting (being digital and all), so it seems fine to me.
-
RIP gamefly

That's pretty shitty on top of the gold pass. C'mon xbox... this isn't helping our case any. 10$ a month on top of our 60$ a year gold? Why are we charging people 180$ a year with two separate fees?
-
Which of course can only be accessed with xbox live, so add another $60 a year on top on the game pass subscription. I already pay a premium fee for something that could (and should) be accessible out of tge box, and now they want us to pay a premium fee to access a library of games you won't even own. I get that it sounds like a good deal, like EA access sounds like a good deal, but it's only that as long as you're willing to pony up the cash every month as opposed to just purchasing the games that appeal to you.
-
Edited by Bob: 3/1/2017 4:10:41 PM100+ games when there will be only a select few of aaa games and the rest will be some nobody game that you never heard of, but I mean it's still a decent deal so I probably will get it. Also so like you "rent" the game for a month or two before it gets removed from the selection of games? But I guess it's cool that you get a discount to buy it if you want
-
It'll be something I get as I don't buy many games on Xbox. I do use ps now. I don't get the hate with streaming games. I've never had lag or an issue with any of the games on there.
-
Oh boy more premium services. This should honestly be packaged in with gold.
-
On paper, it sounds like a great idea. It's a lot more affordable than PS Now and by the founds of things the selection if games will be vastly superior to PlayStation's offerings. Microsoft are laying down the foundations to make the Xbox One successor a must own console, when it does eventually come out it will have access to most of the 360's back catalogue, all of the Xbox Ones back catalogue and now thanks to this service a huge chunk of games for a reasonable monthly fee.
-
It depends on what they have in all.
-
xbox need everything they can get because they next to Nintendo with the suckulation of their system
-
PlayStation now?
-
'bout time
-
This is what I think Nintendo should do with their online sub, except with their virtual console games.
-
Looks good just depends on the exact games and extras as to how valuable it is to me, take EA Access as an example that's valuable for another 10-20 years for me.
-
That's a good deal when you think about it. That annoys me that PlayStation screwed up PS now
