*Mortar glares at it, then opens a portal next to Serenity. He picks up Venia and hands her to Serenity* She doesn't seem too hurt, but I would suggest taking her to the hospital to check that leg out. *He closes the portal, facing back the thing* What are you?

Stalling? No. It's just that it's hard to trust a large lizard that lives underground when it says it's completely harmless. I know lizards, and when they flick their tongue it's an intimidation tactic that they use before they attack

Well I gave it no reason to make it feel threatened, except for the last couple words to it... I don't know. I just want to make sure whatever is down there stays down
