Yeah, the one that goes WUN-DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN.
Steel pops from cover, the rocket firing off his wrist and slamming into the mercs head, blowing it clean off like a well placed sniper rifle shot might. He then began to suppress the others as much as he could.
Yeah that's the one!!
Talath exited cover, firing three rounds that all hit one of the mercs in the chest or head
-
Damn that would hurt.
Walking over to the turret Steel held up a very low yield proximity mine. "Talath, need some input on this. You think I should rig this to blow up when someone gets on it, leave it, or just disable the thing?"
-
Yeah....
"Logical Choice. Disable. We are claiming the ship."
-
"Good point. And you even sound like a Salarian. You aren't one, right?" Enforcer Steel stabs his bayonet into the thermal clip receiver, ejecting the clip and jamming the others. It was now impossible for the gun to fire, and keep most of it, including the eezo, salvageable. "I'll be back for parts on this one."
-
Talath simply shook his head as two progresses onwards. They passed by an Armoury, which was empty save for a data pad
-
Stopping by the door to the armory, Steel poked his head in. "Hello. What do we have here?" After checking for traps, he checked the datapad quickly.
-
It contained 3,000 credits and the description of an odd energy weapon
-
Steel downloads the credits to his datapad, making note to split it with the Invictus crew. He kept the weapon plans to himself, figuring that it be best to have such things remain secret.
-
Talath entered the Armoury than, looking around "Empty. Odd."
-
"We can infer that they all grabbed weapons. Which is very bad. They might even have a Cain with 'em." Steel gestures to continue down the hallway.
-
Talath continued down the hallway, and the two passed by another open doorway. This one however, erupted with bullets as they Passed forced the two behind cover. This was the barracks of the Mercs
-
"Hot damn! They really don't want us in there! Got any grenades?" Steel poked his rifle around the corner, unloading 6 bursts (28 rounds) into the barracks intermittently. He then takes the proxy-mine from earlier, tossing it just inside the door.
-
Talath nodded, unhooking a grenade from his belt. He threw it inside, and it exploded Following that, he peaked the corner and fired a few rounds
-
Enforcer Steel continued fire into the barracks when Talath stopped, repeating the fire pattern from before. "Think we got 'em all?"
-
Talath nodded, moving into the barracks. Sure enough, nine eclipses mercs were scattered about, all of them dead
-
"Uh, you check that side for anything useful, I'll check this side." Steel then began to search various lockers, making sure to drain what little Eezo there was in the shields of the mercs.
-
Luckily for him, he found a small container of it containing 500 In the lockers was an assortment of other stuff. Specifically, 4,000 credits, a data pad detailing a love letter written between two of the mercs and a Carnifex pistol
-
Steel siphoned the Eezo from the container with his siege tool, the semi-fluid ending up in a small tank near his shield generator. While looking at the note, the wrist-mounted device tore apart the carnifex, siphoning even the smallest amount of Eezo from the core, as well as collecting the various parts. It was almost as though the tool was doing so of it's own accord. Dividing up the credits, he shouted across the room. "Talath, these guys are criminals, right?"
-
"Affirmative. Mercenary band working outside law. Invictus crew is no better." The Invictus crew was the crew of the ship
-
Steel rolled his neck, helmet lighting betraying his irritation. "Please tell me you try to stick to the law. I really don't want to kill someone I fought with."
-
"Attempt to. But are occasionally forced to break one. Murder. We have murdered this crew for our gain."
-
"Well, at least you try. That means I don't need to kill you out of principle. As for this crew... Consider yourselves operating under the law this time around. I'm not sure if the Bellmi Empire has any real jursdiction, or the The Third Council for Multidimensional Regulation. But I'll vouch for you guys." After checking the room one last time, he left the barracks.
-
Talath followed him, and two went through a doorway that led to a stairwell They moved down, exiting into the engineering deck
