"She did not. She had her life ahead of her. She thought she was finally settling down. She just barely had Derix. She was killed in that same attack that forced me to retreat here in the first place. She wasn't even prepared to fight back." Rafael's voice shows slight anger. "Thanks to Malren. My son doesn't even have a mother now. Thanks to him. I've lost two people who I loved dearly outside of my family."
-
"On the bright side, we killed the son of a bitch!"
-
"I. I killed him. That does not bring either of them back. Angie didn't even have anything to do with that mess. The only reason she died was because she loved me.." "Raf... Raf.. Calm down.." Centrax attempts to stop the looming anger in his brother.
-
"Well having an enemy that goes through dimensions is a risky business. There's going to be someone else."
-
"There won't be another girl. No. I cannot love more." Rafael put this point very solidly. Clearly, he made his mind up. But his softens, rather than increase in the rough, dry nature that it does when he's angry.
-
Royal placed his hand on Raf's shoulder. "If you're not going to love, than let go of her."
-
"Maybe you're right... But even one with a dark, artificial heart such as mine cannot control what they feel, either.." "Keep in mind, Roy. They did not just love one another. They were quite literally linked, bonded you could say on a psychological level. They shared dreams.. Feeling. Emotion. And even more so felt drawn to one another."
-
"Hey he's the one that said, and I quote: 'I'll never love again.' So really what I said was warranted."
-
"That is true. I believe he cannot love anyone else because he'll never fall out of love with Angie."
-
"That's so cliché. No offense, RAF."
-
"Cliché or not, it's true you -blam!-er." "Raf. Don't allow yourself to become enraged, please. For our sake?"
-
"Well than. Love her for who she was. Do not mourn her for her death."
-
Raf's eyes close. Not willing to respond. "He wasn't like this at all after Sarah." Centrax shakes his hand, wrapping an arm around his brother for comfort.
-
"Now who the hell is Sarah?"
-
Edited by Seven: 3/12/2017 6:34:49 AM"First girl he loved. She's dead too. She cheated in him but the day after she "fell" into a wood chipper while I was in her company. Weren't nearly as close as he and Angie were."
-
"See? That just goes to show you can love again... I think.'
-
"Seeing as he didn't love her nearly as much. And he didn't send me after them.. I don't think that's a good way to prove that."
-
"Hence the I think at the end."
-
Centrax shrugs as the still grieving Rafael starts to ignore them.
-
Royal sat down, staring at the tree "Death comes to us all in the end."
-
"Yes... But it doesn't change the pain and emotional suffering that comes from it.."
-
"Truer words have never been spoken my friend."
-
Rafael nods, looking back at the tree again. Instead of the names, he begins to see a translucent, barely visible figure. Presumably Angie.
-
Edited by Royal Blade: 3/12/2017 7:07:20 AMRoyal, probably not being able to see her, reads several of the names on the tree Athos, Portos, Pathos, Baxter, Reynfrey, Karishad, Avery, Stripes, Hawkwood, Watcher, Midnight, Snow, Arcane. There were so many names. Royal sighed, looking down at the ground for a moment
-
Presumably, Rafael would see many more names as well. But his focus on his wife prevents that. He looks at the figure. The curves shape perfectly fit being Angie. It had to be her. But Rafael knew, that it was just a shade.
