"Don't be. You'll be fine." Cannon pats his shoulder reassuringly.
-
"Vor'e. Did I say that right?"
-
"You're practically a native already." Cannon grins. The man in skeletal armor turns to him. "Alright lad, we're almost to the Dxun hunting grounds. I'll go over the rules of the hunt again."
-
"Yeah, gedet'ye vaabir." Nathaniel turned to face the man in skeletal armor
-
The man nods. "You'll be dropped in the jungle with your hunting knife and some supplies. Find a predator, kill it, and bring a trophy to the LZ, which you will mark with a flare. You may not take any weapons with you into the jungle besides the knife, though you may make whatever you can once in the jungle. Any questions?"
-
"Predator. The one from the movie?"
-
Cannon laughs. "No, thank the Manda. There are some real big nasties in that jungle, kill a big one and you get more respect from the clan." Cannon tells him.
-
"Understood bossman." Nathaniel got to his feet and stretched out. He had left his weapons in his apartment at the dojo "Any of you have a knife by chance?"
-
The skeletal Mando draws an old looking knife, covered in runes, and hands it to him. "Good luck, lad." The ship doors open, revealing a clearing in the middle of the jungle.
-
Nathaniel took the blade and turned. "Here goes..." He jumped out of the shuttle into the outside world
-
He hears the heavy thump of a satchel land beside him before the transport lifts off.
-
Nathaniel grabbed the satchel, checking it's contents
-
Food, a flashlight, a compus, rope, and water are inside, as well as fire starters and a few other survival items.
-
"Great..." He rose up to his feet and slung the satchel over his head and began moving through the jungle
-
Less than ten feet in a giant Venus fly tap attempts to eat him.
-
Nathaniel rolled to the side, and out of the Venus Fly Trap's range.
-
It hisses at him and pulls back.
-
"What the hell...."
-
He notices several more of them, none within range. In the distance, something howls.
-
He moved towards the sound of howling, careful to stay out of the traps range
-
Several times he hears scuttling in the foliage, but nothing jumps out at him.
-
Nathaniel moved towards a tree and climbed up to gain a better view of his surroundings
-
All he can see are the tops of trees in all directions, too thick to see through. In the distance to the east is a large rocky outcropping that's bare of almost any foliage.
-
"Great... Just great." He dropped down, manipulating the air around him to soften the fall
-
About half way down something leaps at his face. It looks like a hairless monkey.
