Kudos for getting back into shape and mending relationships. No sarcasm. Good job. When I first moved in with my wife, she was my fiance then, I had to move 6 hours north and thus had to quit my job. After the move, I'd hop on the computer for maybe an hour to job hunt. The rest of the day, I'd be on Destiny. It was seriously irritating my wife. Eventually, I found a good job, that sounded really promising, and the phone interview, I felt, went well. Back to Destiny. A week went by and I heard back. Apparently the phone interview didn't go so well. I put Destiny down, and got serious about the job hunt. That afternoon, I sent out about 20 resumes. Two days later I had two places asking for phone interviews. One job I knew nothing about, but was right down the street, and the other was similar to a previous job I had that I wanted nothing to do with. But work was work. Smashed both phone interviews. Job B, the one I didn't care for, wanted me to start later that week. Job A, wanted me to come in for an in person interview. Started Job B. Job A wanted me to pee in a cup. Offer from Job A, walked out of Job B. Back to Destiny. I get maybe 2 hours a day with Destiny now, as when I get home from work I hang out with my family. My wife loves reading, so when she goes to read, I hop on the game. My wife has told me that pretty soon if I hadn't found a job, she was going to kick me out and leave me (we were still engaged at the time so it would have been much easier than if we had tied the knot). I too nearly took the path of letting the game rule my life. So, kudos to you for not letting it take you away from those you love and your health. (The story is not to compete with yours, but to establish a common bond).

  • Great story, i would say that many people more than you expect has this issue with Destiny and they dont or cant separate from the game and forget that Destiny is that... just a game. How many games people pick ans play for a couple of hours and dont touch it again, Destiny is a pretty god-damn deal even if you have been playing since the beggining and buying each DLC day 1, Destiny is a 2.5+ years old game and people still play it, tbh we just need to take a chill pill and remember that destiny is a game, not a job or something like that.

  • Our stories and many other people's stories are one of the same just in different examples. I can go on for days about my experiences in Destiny because as I said in my number one reason Destiny was a great experience. I feel like the forums may not be the right place to write all the experiences and it was tough to try to narrow it down two simple words. Congratulations on your marriage and may God bless you and your wife. I wish I could be like you and just play for a couple hours a day but even now it's tough for me to do since I work full time. A couple of friends are really trying to get me back to at least do the vog and crota but I will see what's up. If you're on psn, add HuSeYiN_NYC, MAYBE I'll do an old raid or two n u seem like a cool dude.

  • Thank you. I thank God daily for her. I'm on X-Box currently, but after we get a house, I'll be getting a PS4. I'm going to write down your PSN ID and add you when I get one. BBQ Express is already taken on the PSN, so I'll have to think of a new name. I'll send you a message when it happens. I agree, Destiny is a great experience. It's allowed me to form friendships with folk I'd never have met in the real world, and even keep in contact with a friend who moved across the country (we play in the Crucible at least once a week now). You seem like a cool dude as well. Not to be super creepy, but I'm actually in WNY. My wife took me to NYC for the first time last year. We plan on going again being that we loved it. Honestly, I'd like to go back and experience walking around not in pain (because of the trip I found out that I had AVN and had to go through a full right hip replacement surgery). But I remember Shake Shack being the bees knees.
