It's allowed me to form friendships with folk I'd never have met in the real world, and even keep in contact with a friend who moved across the country (we play in the Crucible at least once a week now). You seem like a cool dude as well. Not to be super creepy, but I'm actually in WNY. My wife took me to NYC for the first time last year. We plan on going again being that we loved it. Honestly, I'd like to go back and experience walking around not in pain (because of the trip I found out that I had AVN and had to go through a full right hip replacement surgery). But I remember Shake Shack being the bees knees.
