I think getting to 400 was WAYYYY too easy. I'm not asking for how "forever 29" was, however I think it was perfect in year 2. To get max light you had to run the raid. Strikes would max you out at around 296 then that push to 310 then 335 were perfect. You'd get there as long as you raided but you had to go in multiple multiple times. The grind to 400 happened in days. You didn't even need to step foot in the raid to hit max light. Venders could get you to 390 and then trials, iron banner and even post game crucible could get you all the way to 400. Making everything THAT easy also spoiled the fun. If it's handed to you, you just don't care as much. You didn't really earn it. I want that feeling back. Like I earners it, even if rng has to get a little tougher again.
Fair enough.
I personally see multiple avenues as a good thing.
With lucky RNG many folks could hit 400 without Raiding.
I honestly see that as a positive as it got them raid ready gear/level wise.
However, I also see your point.
I think its a lose/lose situation for Bungie.
Forcing playstyles on people pushes folks away too.
Many disliked being forced to Raid afterall.
(Many disliked & still dislike being forced to PVP for quests/exotics.)
And many Destiny players (a very large % actually) have issues getting a full Raid going, not to mention actually clearing the Raids.
So what can they do?
I honestly feel that the current system made too many avenues obsolete.
Once you hit 390, everything but exotic engrams, strike chest loot, & raid gear became trash.
I found myself wanting auto-dismantle for blues & purples after a few weeks.
I found myself wanting auto-dismantle for blues & purples after a few weeks.
I agree with this as blues have no use after 390 light. Legendary engrams still have some use as you can get some good rolls and an exotic, if your lucky.
