Day one player here. Year one sucked unless you were in the top 2% of players who had time to put in 30-50 hours of play time a week with a dedicated clan/raid group.
Destiny, as a whole, is a much better and rewarding experience now than it was back then.
Don't confuse nostalgia for quality. It's like remembering only the good times with an abusive/toxic ex and thinking "I wonder why we broke up?" and you go to get back with them cause you didn't learn your lesson and everything sucks again and you go "Oh yeah..." only to repeat the cycle again and again cause the sex was good but that's about the only thing cause everything else is a soul sucking life draining cesspit so finally get a gun and... *ahem* Not that I know anything about that. Purely hypothetical. 🙄

you are saying you are y1 player and did not approve this post? Well, you are not a y1 player or utter stupid. you choice.
-
I'm sorry... I can't understand you over the poor grammar and inflated self opinion. Muted. 😘

Edited by ReaperBlack_201: 3/28/2017 7:21:08 AMGrammar is one thing you can be good at, because i am not American or English. Using your own language don't make you a better person from any one. You can mute everyone if you like, but you can't change facts. Y1 is way better that 2 or 3.

Bad day man?
-
Hmm? I was really casual back then (although I did have more time to play over the summer during HoW, but nothing more than 15 hours a week). I loved the game in that period. Whenever I got an exotic, I felt like I deserved it. I did my bad juju quest, I saved coins for weeks to buy ice breaker from xur, I got a plan c from my first nightfall, etc. Exotics were rarer, bit I felt like I earned them. They were also a lot stronger back then. I didn't need to get everything instantly, I could just play and have fun, and the game really fun during that period for me
-
If you liked that, cool. But for me, it was an unrewarding grind. And let's not even get into leveling up gear. That was before motes of light and vendors sold upgrade materials. /:P

I have found no one else on these forums i agree more with.
-
HoW was the best time for D1, honestly don't have a clue what you're talking about
-
Id say it was the best time for PVE players because of the large amount of content. But PVP on the other hand....that meta was awful. AWFUL.

Meh. Agree to disagree.

Day 1 player here. Everything this fanboy is saying is spin. Just garbage. OP nailed it, you're here on damage control.
-
Controlling what damage?
-
Pretty much
-
What a filthy casual. Go play any other gake and leave us alone
-
Lol! "Filthy casual" says the guy that barely has a fifth of my play time. 🙄 And maybe I WILL go play a "gake"... If you first explain wtf it is. O_o
-
Nonsense. I work full time and have two kids and only ever get 4-5 hours max on the game if I'm very lucky. Usually more like 2 hours. I've had a great time playing this game and made friends and got stuff done along the way. If a had to duck out of stuff for whatever reason everyone agreed to pick up where we'd left off later when it suited everyone. Sounds more like you had a shitty clan.
-
Never had a clan. Never needed one. But because of how bad leveling, rewards, & elitism were in year one, I didn't bother with endgame content more than a few times before I was utterly disenfranchised by it. Things are definitely better now. End of story.
-
This for sure. I do not at all miss spending 2 hours a day running in a circle on patrol just to get materials to finish upgrades on weapons and armor. It is much better now and way more balanced. All the OP did was trigger the people that are mad they can now longer use a sniper for every kill in crucible and finish night falls in 2 minutes. All these trials PVP players don't want to spend the time in PVE to get the new weapons and want it to be easy so they can take it back to PVP and use without putting the work in.
-
Completely agree. /:)

Having to go back to the tower just to turn in bounties is enough to make me never look back on year 1 fondly.
-
*Shudder* Agreed. /:P
