Last post: Is anyone else expecting 1080p/60FPS for the ps4? I mean, not even the "Pro", just the old ps4. It CAN do it.
Don't say "well cutscenes are 60fps......" we both know the difference

Bro I have a Ps4pro and I would settle for 720p if I could get 60fps
-
I know I'm quickly becoming the minority opinion on this, but I'd much rather them lock it at 30fps and leave computing power for high enemy count, large environments, and high effect (explosions, etc) count.
-
Your the minority give me 60fps any day
-
Sure, that's why I said I knew I was in the minority. But until we get a significantly better consoles, we basically get: 1) 60 FPS 2) 1080+ graphics 3) Open world gameplay with solid AI 4) Average-Above Average Multiplayer Choose any three.

Edited by Unicronic: 3/28/2017 3:43:13 AMI don't think it will run at 60fps. It's an open world (ish) game. I'm yet to see this kind of game run at 60fps on PS4 Also if Ps4 can't do it then Pro won't do it due to rules.
-
Not true, tomb raider runs in 30fps but on the pro u get the option to run it at 60fps
-
It is true if the rules come into play. Those rules specifically relate to online PVP experiences. Sony have ruled out PS4 players playing PVP at 30fps with Pro playing at 60fps. Tomb Raider has no PVP so it's exempt from those rules.
-
They could also do 30fps on pve if it's open world and 60fps on pvp because that won't b open world, just like the new gran turismo where it's 60fps @ 1080p but in the replays it's 30fps with much more detail They can change frame rates for game modes
-
Conceptually that is possible but if it's a game both on PS4 and PS4 Pro then any PVP element can't be at a higher fps than PS4.
-
Hopefully it's on PC then.
-
You're likely right. Depends though. You can TARGET 60 and have the dips but not drop below 30. That's how it usually works unless the game is developed to run at a static rate of 30fps(like destiny)
-
Agreed I suspect give the PVP component they'll want a frame rate that stays fairly solid. Example fluctuating between 50 and 30 will likely trigger some people beyond belief.
-
This. Static 30 is infinitely superior to stuttery wobble between 60 and 30.
-
I don't see why consoles wouldn't be able to handle 1080p/60 fps just look at Battlefield 1, it's not true 1080p but it looks close enough and runs at 60 fps. I guess it'll be up to bungie to do it though.
-
BF1 isn't open world though
-
Destiny isn't really open world either, hence the loading zones between areas. The reason I said Battlefield 1 is because it's very rare that it drops lower than 50 fps even with the amount of explosions, players, vehicles, etc on screen.
-
And I get that. But everyone expects D2 to be open world. I mean really, you can't have an argument based off of D1 against D2.
-
Well, yea. I mean, there are certain hardware differences between the xb1 and ps4. I just want them to push both. I'm an old dude, not a "fanboy" so don't take this the wrong way, but from previous tests after test, the ps4 is obviously got a lil more" oomph" to it. The difference? Hardly noticeable. BUT, i want the ps4 running at max as well as the xb1. Not just dumbed down to a level where they are equal. That would be silly. XB1 would run around 900(upscale using an interpolation algorithm i suppose) while the ps4 should be able to do 1080p and keep frame rates pretty damn good. They dip but never below 30
-
Unless they make Destiny 2 truly open world (no loading zones between areas of a planet) then it shouldn't be too hard to hit 60 fps. There's no reason either console wouldn't be able to handle it, PC on the other hand will have all the luck
-
I think they will stick to the instanced zones as they are now, jut alot bigger. And Iam almost 100% sure that standard PS4s and Xbones will be locked on 30 fps, BUT PS4 pro will have the "action" mode for 60 fps. And obviously PC, but thats a given...
