Good points. Nice to read you still have hope. Tomorrow I'll be counting the playership. Watching the iceberg and listening to the violins fade to black. I know from a reliable source, Bungie history itself, they can't make anything they promise, except a lot of money from sheep! And, there are a lot of sheep here, an Optometrists dream...

 • No company can make everything they advertise about, but to continue to advertise what the game is not based off of Is not helping. A lot of companies throw out this hype and hopes gamer's will by their game. It's how marketing works. Just when they keep advertising things that are not there gamer's tend to catch on and realize the company is not providing the things they mentioned and people get tired of that. I want to see that change with this company, it's not hard to just stick with a plan and work from there. I just know it's the people that are in charge are the ones that have the last say in what direction things go. The people on the bottom of the totem pole are just doing their job.

 • Destiny is one of the best games I have ever played. It's one of the worst managed games I have first hand experience with! I would love to continue to support it, but, I strongly dislike how it has been managed. I must vote with my forum post and wallet.

 • I agree, this is why I'll wait and see how things play out. I didn't buy Rise of iron so will see what Bungie actually did with D2.

 • I enjoyed destiny enough to play for 3 years, I'm definitely getting destiny 2.

 • Nothing wrong in that, I'll just wait and see if this companies actions will show me if it's worth it or not.

 • I enjoyed it too, and will walk away. I bought a PVE game, got a PVP centric game which is not what I paid for. Would never have bought a PVP centric game. Would never buy any game that forces a Corporate Sanctioned playstyle down players throats, as Bungie does with each meta! Would never buy any game that renders your rewards null and void with a single update! Lastly, it's just a game. I play for fun, and this was fun. Not fun anymore. That was lost, don't see that miraculously returning. Hope you don't regret the purchase.

 • So you regret buying a "PVP centric game" with 150 days playing time? 23 of those days are spent in the Crucible. You must really hate PVP. I would hate being a game developer if everyone regrets a purchase if roughly 3600 hours spent in-game isn't enough.

 • I have over 200 days played. That included deleted characters whose times do not show up. Yes, I played PVE about 90% of that time. Only played Iron Banner, and a couple of PVP games for books and quests. And, yes, I would not have bought this game if I knew it was going to end up PVP rules! I know that now, so, Destiny 2 is dead to me. I got my money from Destiny. I also learned about Bungie, a lesson not needed repeating.

 • So, you have over 4800 hours played, and you're willing to give D2 the thumbs down before we know anything about it? Heck, I would pay double, or maybe triple the value of D1 if D2 gives me 1/5 of the play time you got in D1. To say Destiny forces PvP down your throat is a lie. If it was that bad, how come you've managed to play 90% of 4800++ hours in PvE? This coming from someone who doesn't like PvP that much to be honest, so my view is not favored towards PvP.

A gamers time in this game is spent more on running the same events over and over looking for that reward. Sad thing about it, it can take an entire year before a lot of gamers will collect that reward they have been wanting to acquire. I don't call that quality time spent knowing the content in this game is majorly limited to what one can do to acquire whatever reward. When Destiny was released this company even stated that not all gamers will acquire all the rewards in this game. But some of that Changed because how gamers complaned about not getting certain rewards. Ghorn is a good example on that and things changed majorly when The taken king was released. Then again it was the same way for PvP having to play PvE. IMO I don't feel bounties should play in both aspect of this game. PvE should be separated from PvP in many area's.

But I would think someone who doesn't enjoy grinding would stop grinding before accumulating that much play-time. I'm on the same page that certain exotic weapons *cough* G-horn *cough* should be a random drop. It takes away all the excitement when you know that it is a guaranteed reward. On the other hand, I think that quests like the one for Outbreak Prime and Sleeper Sim is quite okay, because they're designed in such a way that the quest is slightly challenging.
In a sense it was forcing gamers to play PvP because how they had bounties set up. Then again it was the same way for PvP having to play PvE. Still, it's completely voluntary to do them, so to say it's centered around one game-mode is a bit far-fetched. For example the sword quests from TTK. These should be do-able in just PvE or PvP, not both.

PVP is PVP! Meta refers to weapon balance! Please tell me you know that. Don't be so damned determined to misrepresent what anyone writes that you create what's not there!

 • To be fair, you complain about getting a "PVP centric game", then you go on to complain about how this "Corporate Sanctioned playstyle" gets forced down our throats "as Bungie does with each meta". So you mean to say that, it is not safe to assume that you mean Bungie balances the "meta" for PvP, not PvE, after what you've previously stated and in that assumption, also believe that you refer to PVP when you say "Corporate sanctioned playstyle"?

 • I know I don't need anything else to convince me not to buy, other than my own experience over the past 2.5 years with Bungie. You may be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I already did that for Destiny x3, HoW x3, TTK x 3 copies and ROI x 2 copies. I don't need anymore 'experience' to know better. I also know that hype will catch a lot again, just not me.

 • Why did you buy 3 copies of a game you claim not to enjoy? You're backing up your arguments with facts that just doesn't makes sense for the point you're trying to hammer home.

 • I have kids, they played it. That's why there were 3 copies of some and 2 of ROI. One refused ROI so I didn't buy him a copy. Seriously, my statements don't back up the point I'm driving home. And your proof is the duration of my play time. And that makes sense to you! Ok, you win, I'm making no sense, to you... I still played enough to know I'm not going further than Destiny. I'm not here to tell you or anyone else what to do, just to tell everyone my experience and why I'm not going forward. That's what a community forum is for. It's for differing opinions. We aren't supposed to always agree. We are supposed to keep it civil.

 • And that's fair, I'm simply trying to understand why you make these statements, when your play stats clearly states otherwise.

 • My profile shows I've played for many hours, but over half of them isn't even me. Do people really not share games with family and friends anymore? My wife has about 500+ hours logged. She played for about 30 of them (all 1 month ago). You stat checkers are hilarious individuals.

 • So I must assume that since this player has x amount of hours, he couldn't possibly have played it all by himself? Sure, sharing games and playing together is fun, but not everyone has a wife, sibling or others who play with them. Not everyone who has does either, it could be that this players brother has no interest in video games, or that game in particular. If his page had a huge disclaimer saying "My brother played x amount of my hours" I would certainly take that into the equation, but it doesn't. He also stated that he bought copies for his kids, so it is safe to assume that he played those hours by himself. Thanks for the compliment by the way, I'm happy to have shared my hilarious stat checking with you.
So I must assume that since this player has x amount of hours, he couldn't possibly have played it all by himself? ....
I believe I found the obvious and fatal flaw in stat checking logic (for a foundation/basis of opinion)... I couldn't have stated it any better. Thank you, and I hope others can learn from this.
