So, you have over 4800 hours played, and you're willing to give D2 the thumbs down before we know anything about it? Heck, I would pay double, or maybe triple the value of D1 if D2 gives me 1/5 of the play time you got in D1.
Play time isn't how you are referring it to when it comes to Destiny. A gamers time in this game is spent more on running the same events over and over looking for that reward. Sad thing about it, it can take an entire year before a lot of gamers will collect that reward they have been wanting to acquire. I don't call that quality time spent knowing the content in this game is majorly limited to what one can do to acquire whatever reward. When Destiny was released this company even stated that not all gamers will acquire all the rewards in this game. But some of that Changed because how gamers complaned about not getting certain rewards. Ghorn is a good example on that and things changed majorly when The taken king was released.
To say Destiny forces PvP down your throat is a lie. If it was that bad, how come you've managed to play 90% of 4800++ hours in PvE? This coming from someone who doesn't like PvP that much to be honest, so my view is not favored towards PvP.
In a sense it was forcing gamers to play PvP because how they had bounties set up. Then again it was the same way for PvP having to play PvE. IMO I don't feel bounties should play in both aspect of this game. PvE should be separated from PvP in many area's.

But I would think someone who doesn't enjoy grinding would stop grinding before accumulating that much play-time. I'm on the same page that certain exotic weapons *cough* G-horn *cough* should be a random drop. It takes away all the excitement when you know that it is a guaranteed reward. On the other hand, I think that quests like the one for Outbreak Prime and Sleeper Sim is quite okay, because they're designed in such a way that the quest is slightly challenging. Still, it's completely voluntary to do them, so to say it's centered around one game-mode is a bit far-fetched. For example the sword quests from TTK. These should be do-able in just PvE or PvP, not both.
