This is nice don't get me wrong, and this isn't a Destiny bashing post.
But.
It isn't enough. It's a nice cinematic and has got people hyped.
What Bungie should do, is have a reveal later on, that has real good juicy details in. Show us gameplay, give us ideas on what they've learnt from Destiny.
This is the ideal time to show they have listened and learned.
I truly do want Destiny 2 to succeed for everyone involved, and also for us gamers ; the people who keep the industry alive.
Great post. I can't bring myself to get excited about D2 until they announce that PVE will be separated from PVP (if that is even the case). Much of this game's problems result from the balance between the two being linked. There are other major issues, but this issue impacts your gameplay whether you play PVP or not, so it is at the very top of my list. You simply can't have power progression in PVE and expect that it be balanced in PVP.
I also need to see some elite-tier endgame rewards to chase after like we had in Y1. Y2's endgame rewards are just plain trash, and Y3 really isn't much better given how they dinked around with our favorite guns too much (removing burns, making adept exotics, PVP nerfs impacting PVE).
But endgame rewards could always improve over the lifetime of D2, whereas if PVP isn't fully separated from PVE, the repercussions of that decision can't be fixed until the NEXT installment of Destiny, if ever. Which is why it is #1 on my list.
