I'm European, I live in the "old world" aka. "good old Europe" aka. "liberal shithole", and wonder how Americans view this. Are you interested in visiting the country or countries of your ancestors? Have you already? Or do you not want to? Do you still have relatives in your ancestor countries and contact to them?
Additional question to black Americans:
Do you even know from what African countries your ancestors originally came? Or from what tribe or something? Because I never see black Americans mentioning their heritage countries. Unlike the white Americans which say Germany, Britain, Italy, Ireland etc.

I'm American. I do not hold my ancestors accountable for the silly mistakes they made; like not being American.
-
Indeed I have, I have Native American ancestry so I live in one of them. I have no need or want to visit France, Germany, Israel, Britain, or Finland.

I'd like to go to Italy one day

Edited by mr_alex_awesome: 4/3/2017 4:24:45 AMI'd love to visit Ireland, Wales, and France. Maybe other places but just for the concentration camps and other Nazi/ww2 related things. Not because I like the Nazis but because I've always been really into ww2

Do Americans of British heritage hate themselves?

I'm French Native American and I've almost been fully coast to coast in the states. Would like to see France though, at the least to get a taste of the cuisine.

Been to Germany and Ireland. Have yet to visit Switzerland, The UK (been through there but not "visited"), the Netherlands or any of the Scandinavian countries yet.

It'd be really cool to visit Japan one of these days. One side of my family (the side I acknowledge) is from there.

(Mom's side Italian) Been to southern Italy, still have some distant relatives there. Been to my great grandmothers farm that she grew up on (she moved to the US when she was 14 in 1904-or something around there-) and my family still owns, in Bomba. (Dad's side Welsh/British) No relatives that I know of. Haven't been to either, but would love to. There is even a town in Wales (Priddy) that is named after the same guy who I get my last name (sir name) from, and apperently he is an anchent ancestor of mine. And I 100% will be going there one day and sitting down at the Priddy town inn and having a beer at the bar lol.
