"I could set up a climbing winch, would that do?"
Cannon replied.
English
-
"Ya. Do that which then let's head down." Alex agreed to the plan.
-
Cannon pulled out the winch from his equipment and anchored it to the ground, attaching a thick cord to it. "Done."
-
"Good. Now let's see what's down this hole shall we?" Alex asked with a grin as he hopped down the hole. He slid down incredibly quick, and soon he was gone from Can's view.
-
Cannon grabs the cable in one hand and sprints down the hole.
-
Can however found himself slipping, and he began to slide down the icy hole. He picked up more and more speed as hole twisted and turned around and descended.
-
He used his grip on the cable to control his decent as he slid.
-
The cable was able to direct his slide as he eventually fell down a sharp decline. He dropped down into shallow dark water. The water was freezing, but broke his fall. As Can looked around, he saw a large cavern of ice around him. There seemed to be structures down where he was as well, however. Old structures. There seemed to be sets of stairs on the easy and west sides of the room which lead into doors of their own. From these doors there were bridges that led over to a central platform, "What took you so long?!" Alex asked with a smile as he looked to Can.
-
"Took the scenic route." He replied.
-
"Uh huh. Gotcha. Anyways, looks like we got something in the centre of the cave here. Follow me." The two walked up the steps, then crossed over the platform which lead to the centre piece of the room. In the centre of the circular platform was a pedestal which had a box on top of it. The box was black, but an icy coloured white gave out through its cracks. There seemed to be two key locks on both sides of the box.
-
Cannon followed him, his heltem scanning the box.
-
There seemed to be a significant source of power coming from it. And is thermals showed that the object inside was completely black. Meaning whatever was inside was extremely cold. "I'm gunna take an educated guess and say this is what we're looking for." Alex put.
-
"Probably. It's energy readings are off the charts." Cannon agreed.
-
"Alright...let's try getting these locks off. Any ideas?" Alex asked Can
-
Cannon pulled out his saber, which was made of nearly indestructible beskar iron. "I can try to pry them off?"
-
"Don't see why you couldn't try." Alex answered.
-
Cannon stepped up and wedged the blade behind the lock. He then strained his strength in an attempt to break it.
-
The lock creaked, but it wouldn't budge. After a good try, the lock remained unhindered. "Well...looks like we'll have to find the damn keys then!" Alex exclaimed as he pointed to the doors on the left and right. "My money is that the security measures made back in the day have the keys in both of these doors. One for each room."
-
"Which one should we try first?"
-
"Right is right, right?" Alex said as he walked towards the door on the right.
-
"Um... Right?" Cannon followed, resheathing his sword.
-
The two stopped in front of the large door, and alex turned its ancient knob. He pushed it open and icicles fell from the ceiling and crashed around them as he did so. He crept in, with Can behind him. Inside was a cubical shaped room. At the end, there seemed to be a gothic looking statue with its hand extended. It had the keys hung on its ring finger, as if it was offering the two to take it. "Whoo. That's pretty creepy." Alex admitted.
-
"Don't blink?" Cannon joked, not liking the looks of it.
-
"Haha no kidding. Holy shit that terrifying." Alex said as he approached the statue. "At least we got the first key..." He commented as he took the key off of the ring finger. Suddenly, the door behind them had bars cover it, and it froze completely in ice.
-
"We should have seen that coming..." Cannon commented, shaking his head slightly.
-
"Ya, that's a cliche move at this point." Alex remarked as well. Suddenly, the two could hear groans coming from the other side of the wall on their left...
