Bungie,
As a loyal member/player in your destiny universe, i would like to make my first and final request so that I, and hopefully most other players, can once more enjoy playing crucible.
As a year 1 player, there was nothing more enjoyable than playing some crucible. Sure, there were some issues with balance, particularly thorn and last word, but everyone enjoyed the fast paced, action shooter you had once created. Despite what many players had to say on the forums, crucible was fun. Then it got to a stage where you felt that everything needed a nerf (primary, secondary and heavy weapons). Weapons over the years have received countless nerfs, making them unbearable to even look at. To think that the thorn was the king of crucible and now it just rests in our vaults as a memory of when crucible use to be fun (a bit broken but there was still a heck more variety in the usage of guns than there is today).
You thought that the reason why we used secondary weapons more than primary was because they were too strong. I can say right now that you were wrong, primary weapons were just too weak, they became a chore to use, so no one ever wanted to pull them out. That's why snipers and shotguns and even side arms for that matter, ruled usage in their respected balances. I loved crucible back in the days where everyone had a ridiculous amount of special and heavy ammo (it didn't really matter because primaries were really strong), it's what made the crucible fast paced and more enjoyable to play. So i guess what i am trying to say is that before you finalise any balance patch, look back at what you have done and think to yourselves, is that weapon truly fun to play with, is it a viable option in the crucible?
These nerfs you have accumulated over the years have honestly ruined crucible. I no longer feel the joy in playing crucible anymore, it has just gotten too slow and boring. As a send off for these final months we have left until the new sequel arises, I believe you should return crucible to its original glory. That means, undo all the nerfs you ever made to slow down the crucible (a quick game is always a good game). Yes, you will have to tweak things like last word and thorn because they were simply broken, but they certain did not need the nerfs you had given (all you really needed to do with the last word was make it have slightly less range [not that it literally can't reach targets 10 metres in front of you] and possibly reduce the rate of fire by a small amount and the thorn only needed to be nerfed so that it became like the archetype below it (one tap to the head and two taps to the body [I'm not saying make it into that archetype, I'm just saying make it so that the lingering damage enabled it so that it could behave like the eyasluna]).
Bungie, your game is far from perfect (just as any other game) but i can say that the crucible was much more enjoyable in its initial days. I think it would be a true pleasure to play crucible as it once was just before heading into the next installment you have planned for us.
P.S. Changing the vendor roles for each weapon every week was a great idea and bringing back all the vendor weapons from each year (iron banner, future war cult etc.) would be amazing and I would never be able to thank you enough.
