*just as they start walking, a loud crash is heard from Mortar's house, which had no lights on because it was supposedly empty, followed by a rather loud "AH, Son of a bitch!" Mion swivels his ears to the sound first, then his head* What the hell was that?

*Mion runs faster when he sees the windows on the garage door begin to glow* Oh, god, I hope they're not doing what I think they're doing

It's a portal to the... I'll explain when we get there! I don't even entirely know! *He keeps running, slipping through the little cat door, then jumps up, trying to get to the door handle to open the door for Aiyanna.* Damn you lack of thumbs!

*Mion, already being inside, simply nods and runs to the garage door, scratching at the door* Open please?

[i]she walks over and opens it too while slobbering all over the doorknob when she turns it.[/i] - there you go-

Thanks. *Once she opens it a large burst of light seems to blind Mion and Aiyanna temporarily. Then it gets dark again, and a strange buzzing sound comes from the back of the garage, however the buzzing seems to fade slightly as the seconds tick by*

I can't either! I think the old portal thing did this! Whenever Mortar worked on it he wore really dark goggles. Maybe that is what did this!

Nor am I. I think it's wearing off. *He shook his head, his vision dark but coming back. After a couple moments it returns to normal* I'm good. You?

Yeah, it was.... *Mion looks at the source of the flash: A large steel ring with many wires and some static electricity off of it. As he gets close he gets shocked slightly and jumps back* Jeez!
