Rodeo, what does it do? This perk has been discussed plenty and most people recommend to avoid it but others like it, so in this post I will but this all to rest.
This perk as many have suspected does very little. It won’t change your recoil pattern, the normal amount of recoil or even your center speed.
What it does do is decrease recoil when a weapon is fired from rest by about 15% and reduce visual recoil. The most noticeable change is the visual effect. You know how Hardlight shakes all over and can be very uncomfortable to use, this perk will reduce that. It does seem to do this quite significantly; my guess would be the crosshair is about 50% more stable.
Some places this perk may be good include: firing a slow rate of fire weapon, since you get the bonus stability when settled, though note weapons take a long time to completely settle; or firing a high rate of fire weapon, the reduced visual effect can make tracking your target easier.
Overall I would not recommend this perk as its benefits are simply not substantial or nearly as useful as those offered by counter balance.
What do you think of Rodeo? I personally had thought it would reduce center speed.

Thank you for making this video short and concise, and opting out of a 60 second intro and all that annoying stuff.

Yeah, I've got a Continental with Rodeo and Counterbalance. Not a huge difference when I take it off, but it is noticeable. With Rodeo on, the recoil is straight up and very easy to control. Without it, it just veers a little tiny bit to the side.

i hope this is something they change in destiny 2. actually telling us what the perks do, with the numbers or % instead of giving a vague description.
and while were at it, using actual translators instead of google translator. in the german version the unflinching perk says "with this weapon aiming while shooting is easier". had to check the english translation to understand that it reduces flinch.
Rodeo should have been the fixed perk for the Adept Anguish of Drystan.

Came for the rodeo jokes & left satisfied.

And a broken home and some broken bones. Is all he'll have to show. For all the years that he spent chasin' This dream they call rodeo

I honestly don't feel a difference in the Vision Stone with Rodeo opposed to without it. Feels the same with and without it.
-
I did get a Parthian Shot with Braced frame, counterbalance and rodeo and it's true that it's stable enough and didn't need rodeo lol.
-
My PDX with rodeo is much easier to handle than the one without. Exactly what it does i do not know, but it is felt.

Works really well on my grim citizen, rodeo, counterbalance and small bore. So fun

You have to have some joke perks and worthless rolls to let people appreciate (and want them to grind for) the good ones. That's what I think about Rodeo.

If I could upvote your post more than once I would. Thank you. Not a thank you for the information, which was good mind you, but an enormous thank you for the delivery. Many people make needless YouTube videos that spend 3 minutes blabbering on about their channel and begging for likes and subs before they finally get down to the info that is many times something that could have been typed. Then that gets even worse when the video is just their PVP gameplay while they are talking about upcoming releases or news they are repeating that has nothing to do with the video. For your information delivery alone of taking the time to type it out here I'll go give your video a watch and a like.

I personally avoid it at all costs. I never visually notice a difference. | Jkeggy | Destiny PvP Sherpa | | https://twitch.tv/Jkeggy |

I originally thought used in conjunction with counter balance would be awesome however I was wrong.

What does rodeo do you ask? Nothing

The Shadow Price on my Titan has Rodeo-Perfect Balance/Hand laid stock/Smallbore-Counterbalance. I actually really love this gun, its very easy to use but I think Persistence would have made it feel better.

Edited by elemenopee: 4/15/2017 1:16:34 PMI have the lyudmila PR with rodeo, headseeker and HCR. It does seem to make recoil a lot more manageable since that gun kicks a lot. However, i still haven't tried switching HCR over to Injection Mold, that could make a huge difference if i don't mind nerfing its monstrous range/not staggering all the things

A stability perc on a weapon designed to be Combat Ineffective really is simply cosmetic. Since all weapons in Destiny are now Combat Ineffective, ask Gary, really doesn't matter what perc you have, you're going to die anyway. I suggest you shop at Cabalas in Destiny 2: it's your only chance of repelling that guy that leveled your Last City. Cayde 6 smart-arsing holding a handcannon with range less than a kid pissing in a urinal is f'kkng comical: if he can hit anything at all with it...

So glad you wrote what it does instead making me click the video

I have an AR (Shadow Price) with Rodeo, Counter Balance and Perfect Balance. The way it was explained to me is Rodeo and CB both reduce recoil. One reduces verticle and one horizontal. They seem to stack making the hit box smaller and more percise.

Thanks for the text I can't watch the video right now
you smart
I have rodeo and counter balance on three auto rifles and they all have without braced frame much more consistent shot patterns than just braced and counter balance. Though I do agree that the higher fire rate gain less overall it is still a beneficial perk on many gun especially pulse rifles.
