"Yeah man, you want some coffee or something? And what the hell is going on, you look like shit man."
He went over to the kitchen and started a pot, then opened the cabinet and offered a mug to his friend.

"Hmm? Oh, sure. Going on my eighth cup of the night already but hell what's wrong with one more?" He asked rhetorically as he leaned on the counter. "It's...well it's Anne." He told Zane.
-
The coffee pot hissed as it brewed the bitter morning nectar, and Zane walked over to the fridge and brought out the creamer. "How's she holding up, still mourning Alex's death?"
-
"Y-ya. Well I think we all are." He said with a stutter. "Black, please." Falk told Zane as he referred to the coffee. But clearly the entire story hadn't been told yet.
-
The pot beeped, signaling that it was done. He went over and poured some into a mug, handing it to Falk. He poured himself a cup, adding a splash of cream and sugar. "Yeah, seeing him murdered and not able to do anything definitely pissed me off. I'm telling you, the next time I see that bastard I'm hitting him like a fish...."
-
"No kidding..." Falk said as he toon the mug. He nodded in thanks.
-
"No problem, but mind explaining why your knocking on my door at 6 in the morning? Granted I'm usually up at 7 to do my morning training, but -"
-
"Zane Anne is gone!" Falk blurted out suddenly in interruption. His hand shook and some off the coffee spilt from his mug and dripped down the side of his hand.
-
The hot coffee burned into Falk's skin, searing it leaving a scar. "What?! When did you find out?!"
-
Falk winced as he put the coffee down. "Two hours ago. I...I haven't seen her in days. I thought she was home. I visited her before but she said she wanted to be alone. God see always did that. Even as a kid when she was sad. I would Always give her time then talk to her when she could relax and figure out she couldn't solve her own problems. She...agh. That's where she said she was going to be. But...but when I got there this morning she was gone. She left this note." Falk said as he took a note out of his peacoat and handed it to Zane.
-
He took a sip of his coffee and placed it down on the counter, then took the note and began to read. "Damn girl is more hot headed then I was in my teens, and she's way older then I am!"
-
"She's torn from grief Zane. Cut her some slack." Falk told him in defence. The letter was brief. Dad. I'm leaving. I won't sit around and wait for more bad things to happen. Don't try to find me. I want to do this on my own. I love you. -Anne
-
Zane sighed as he pinched his nose, and set the letter down. "Guess I can't be too pissed, I did the same when my family was killed. Let me guess, you want me to track her down?"
-
"We'll be tracking her down." Falk corrected.
-
"Huh, and will you be able to keep up? Last I saw you had a bad leg, and how exactly are we supposed to track her anyway?"
-
"Have you noticed the leg?" Falk asked Zane as he bent his left leg back and forth with ease.
-
"Huh, when the hell did that happen? You get a cleric or something to heal it?"
-
"Ya. His name was JT." Falk said gruffly as he sipped his coffee. He was still on edge, that much was clear.
-
"Old JT huh, now that's a surprise." He took another sip of his coffee then placed it back down. He rotated his shoulders, and a faint light enveloped him. When it fades he was dressed in his combat gear, his buster sword resting lightly on his back. "Alright, I'm ready to go. How are we tracking her?"
-
"We're guessing. We're tracking my daughter, Zane. She's smart. She would've known to take the less crowded streets outta town. What she doesn't know, is that I'm her father. And that's worth just as much as a lead." Falk drank the remainder of his cup and put it down. He seemed more relaxed but his eyes still showed signs of fatigue. "So. With that in mind. We're going to the Ko-Rudo mountains."
-
"The Ko-Rudo mountains, isn't that where The castle is? She wouldn't be so reckless as to attack him directly would she?"
-
"No...no I don't think so. But he still has large forces there, she could be on to something else." Falk told Zane as he put his mug down on the table and walked to the door. "With that, we should head out." He said to Zane.
-
He followed his friend, closing the door behind him. "So how are we getting there, car I take it?"
-
"What, you'd rather walk like we used to?" Falk asked Zane rather harshly. But the man was on edge, Zane knew that as the car outside his homes blinkers went off. It was a black 2017 Range Rover Evoque.
-
"Just making sure, I did just get my license after all." He places his blade in the back seat them hopped in the passenger side. "Fancy."
-
Falk entered shortly after. "Ya, I thought so." He said as he turned the car on. He immediately turned off of the path and into the road that went north. But Zane could tell that Falk was still tired.
