Hey guys, just a little theory I had, putting it up here.
So. I was thinking. What if the Red Death and the Ahamkara were connected in the lore? Here's why I think that's a possibility.
We know that the Consensus had the Ahamkara killed off once the price of the knowledge that the Ahamkara supplied the Consensus with became too great. What if the most recent "cost" of that knowledge had been the construction of the Red Death.
First, let's talk about the Red death's signature perk, which allows you to regain health after killing an enemy. This is eerily reminiscent of the Sword Logic of the Hive. While the Ahamkara are not a part of the Darkness, they are not among the Light either. Perhaps, then, they are something else entirely; a neutral force that refuses to take part in the struggle between Light and Dark, but render their services to both sides? If this is true, then they would probably have knowledge of the Sword Logic, even if they didn't use it directly. Perhaps, then, when the Mad Guardian created the Red Death, he asked the Ahamkara to help improve the weapon, they suggested the sword Logic.
And perhaps the price they asked of him drove him to insanity.
We know that the Red Death has nine skulls painted on its side. It is most likely that these skulls represent the Guardians whom the weapon has killed. The death of nine Guardians would've put the Consensus into panic mode, possibly encouraging them to eliminate the Ahamkara, so that nothing like the Red Death was ever created again.
Anyways, that's just my theory. Tell me what you think of it. . . oh reader mine.

You've drawn a lot of lines that don't exist, or at least have no evidence for them existing.
