Why do YOU still play Destiny?

Seriously... I popped on last night to play a few strikes, but after 1 Strike I just felt sick and switched off. I looked at all the pathetic posts on LFG:- * 400's Only * 3 deaths you get booted * Must have Emblem * 20+ Raid Clears Only (Checking Stats) * No Squeakers Destiny 2 is just around the corner and people are still taking this shit serious; for gear that is going to be obsolete in a month or 2. NOTHING IS GETTING CARRIED OVER! Don't you guys understand? I can understand sub 5000 Grimoire Iron Pups that just recently bought the game are still playing, but for everyone else; what keeps you playing this re-skinned / rehashed garbage?

  • Idk if I'll get/should get d2. Not pre ordering (even if they don't take the money right away) just to play the beta, did that already. And I don't think D2 will be all that different (both the game and players....can't change that "must have" crap).

  • Because I'm having fun playing, simple as that. As for those requirements on lfg, if I don't want to deal with it I make my own post. Gets a group together in 5 mins usually. Raid completions and x deaths = boot is a little extreme, but I understand some of the requirements ppl want. I spent 4 hours on Monday with three different raid groups only doing aksis part 2. Didn't complete the challenge. In order to avoid that I like to play with others who have some experience, you know? Also really don't have a problem with kids. I'm sure some of them are better than myself by a long shot. It's the people who don't shut up are the ones I can't stand personally.

  • I still play because for once in my time playing Crucible is fun, and I love revisiting the old raids. I have most of the gear that I'd like from them, so now it's just getting better rolls on the gear drops. And yes, Destiny 2 is right around the corner so what I do in Destiny 1 won't matter then, but as long as I am having a good time playing, I'm going to continue to play.

    Why are you posting on the forums? Seriously gtfo, no one wants to read you're whiny shit. Why play any game? It's all just a digital construct, no loot carry's over from any game. They're video games you schmuck. People have requirements on LFG because failing an activity over and over again isn't fun whether it's year 1 or year 3.       • The game is more fun than most fps games as of currently. This game gets stale but not as bad as other games do. People say "overwatch never gets old" but when you go against the same team comp game after game after game it gets really boring. There's more "diversity" in this game than most others for PvP, and although strikes are easy and boring, that ability to relax is what I enjoy after I'm pissed from crucible.

      • Used to play a lot then I started to hate it...can't even look at PVE stuff or I'll vomit. I do still PVP from time to time. I suggest to ppl to try the Dark Souls series if your burnt out. PVE content that is challenging and the loot works sort of the same with grinding RNG drops on certain enemies. You can play co op with friends to down tough bosses or PVP invasions. The combat is dank as -blam!- too

      • Destiny helps me unwind from a long day at the office. I work 9 to 5:30 Eastern Time. I am 29 years old and this game has helped me with the stressors of adulthood. I will definitely be getting Destiny 2. However, I share the TV with other family members, so I will probably get it for XB1, since my PC has Windows 10. A bunch of other factors have made me decide to jump from PS4 to XB1 for D2. 1. I have more real life friends on XB1 2. Windows 10 stream play 3. Scorpio late this year 4. The XB1 controller is the right size and doesn't wear out every 3 to 6 months. My GT on XBL is Roadrunner0388.

          • You got on to do a strike.... Got off... the looked at LFG posts?..... If not bad enough then you get mad and post here asking why we take it so serious??..... I agree some groups are to hardcore, but the majority whom post those just don't want to spend 3 hours on something as simple as crota. But the game is still fun and get to chill and socialise with friends..... it appears you may need to get some? Maybe try joining a clan? This way you won't be offended by lfg posts for being "to serious". Although I myself try not to exclude sometimes id like to get stuff done instead of constantly jumping off the map, because there are people whom cannot grasp "Do your job dont die" instructions. But that's just me.......

            • Tl;dr: I play it because to me it is still fun. What else matters? First of all, it's cool that you think that this stuff is garbage. That's your opinion. Don't let people sway your opinion if that's how you truly feel. Secondly, I sure I speak on behalf of many other players that say that we don't play any other games, just Destiny. That's a common misconception. I love Destiny and although I spend the majority of my gaming on it I also play others on my Xbox1 and 3DS. That being said I still play Destiny because, in terms of having synergy between guns and player powers, Destiny feels a lot more engaging than other games. Also, I play it because it is NOT another military shooter. I've had enough of those even though I still play BF1.
