First up, I am going to reference Call of Duty Zombies, so you get the picture I am trying to create, and Also I am aware of Challenge/Prison of Elders (but this is different).
Essentially you have different waves of enemies, and you clear these waves in order to progress up in levels, earn "horde glimmer", and even then purchase perks, guns or ammo crates.
A few bullet points:
- Point system can be the same as Strike Scoring.
- Have various power-ups be weapon buffs or perks.
- Scatter gun archetypes around the map to acquire.
- Gain "Horde Glimmer" from killing waves of enemies.
- "Horde Glimmer" can be used to open closed off areas of the map or rebuild areas.
These are just some brainstorms, a cool concept for Destiny 2. Please feel free to add your ideas to the comments on how it could be improved :)
