Non Variable experiment
Amari was quickly finishing the last touches on a code she was working on for a new device. Whatever it was it had two platforms, a chair and a strange helmet sitting on top.
There was a keyboard in front seeming to be designed to have various settings and statistics she picked up from recording fights and battles within the area. She punched in matching stats for both sides and confirmed on both. She waited around to see if anyone was curious enough to try it out, sending a message for various Email accounts she though might be interested.
open. Testing out a new approach to combat that some may be interested. Can be as cannon or non cannon as you want since this is a bit of an experiment.

Non Cannon
Royal, in all his N7 armour glory entered the laboratory, looking around the large expansive place "New chairs?" He asked with a chuckle, walking towards Ama
-
"Well you wouldn't be wrong. But I wouldn't go so far as to say I got into the furniture business" She looked over some of the wiring and lenses in the helmets while talking to make sure any last minute prep work was taken care of. "Ok so the best way to describe this thing is a dream machine that temporarily allows two concences to be within the same dream. I plug in the stats to what they will be capable of, what the location will look like, and maybe throw in some weapon of some sort and there we go, even match. Also threw in an HP gauge that is visible since pain is turned off unless told otherwise"
-
"Like a videogame you mean?" Roy asked, looking at the strange device

Edited by ALIAS-F4LS: 5/8/2017 2:31:27 AM"In a way. I got the basics of it down if you want to give it a shot. I put the HP stats to 25 for the test run with pretty average stats. As for weaponry, I decided to mock my usual sword configuration since its pretty well balanced"
-
"Alright. I'll give it a whirl." Roy said, looking at the chair "So do I just sit... Or?"
-
"Yup, just think of it as umm, well, a VR helmet I guess but with a comatose state, while hallucinating vividly." She went over to the other one, flipped the on switch and seemed to have fallen asleep in her chair once she did.
-
"Wait, how the hell am I supposed...." Roy sighed to himself, looking for a way to use the machine
-
After a few seconds of noticing Royal wasn't in yet Ama woke up realizing she didn't really explain how to operate it. "Oh right, just sit down, hit the on button and relax. Then you should be dreaming about having pretty average physical capability and a sword in the same dream as me. Whenever you feel like waking up, just tell yourself to wake up. Kind of like a lucid dream I guess"
-
"Here goes..." Roy said, taking a seat in the chair and pressing the button
-
After a few seconds a dream sets in steadily being altered by electrical pulses to shape it into the settings matched by Ama's machine. Once it finished he found himself in a room with snow white sand, a white tree, it seemed incomplete but still functional. A few seconds later Ama appeared on the other side with two swords in her hands. "Its still in the early stages of development but I did manage to make a sort of beach. Anyways let's see how this works out" She tosses one of the swords which disappears and rematerializes in front of royal.
Pretty much what the plan is for this is for this combat style is a 6 sided dice will be used for damage values. 1-3 will be a quick and light attack, while 4-6 will be a slow but heavy attack. If the dice is a 4-6 the one on the receiving end can flip a coin to see if the dodged the attack. Heads dodge, tails got hit. May tweak it, if it turns out to be too quick or too long. If this turns out to be fun I might use it from time to time. If not well good thing I tested it out.

Do I need a die and coin?
-
I just use an app on my phone. Could roll for you if you want.
-
I don't trust you -.- Not to be mean or anything, lol
-
fair enough. Plenty of dice apps out there along with coin apps.
-
Royal wearily picked up the sword before him, spinning it around in his hand to get a feel for it "A fine blade."
-
"Based it off my usual sword so it should be pretty balanced. Anyways there's no really win or lose system in place so guess we will just call it once one of us reach zero" She checked to make sure the damage values were working with a dummy target. -3, -5, -6, -2 and the dummy vanished. "Seems to be working right, let's see what happens"
-
"So is this just a normal fight between us? Working the way the Arena simulations do?"
-
"Pretty much. Might be interesting seeing a few people trying their hand at combat without all the guns and magic."
-
"I'm a swordsman Ama... Been a swordsman for nearly 9,000 Years. I think I'll do fine."
-
"And I had an entire database of weapon techniques and tactics force fed directly into my brain by a lab filled with scientists looking to make a monster. But I mean if you really don't want to, oh well."
Taking It The Dice and coin approach is a no go?
-
"Let's do this!" Roy said, spinning the blade in his hand "You may make the first move."
We're doing it
-
Edited by ALIAS-F4LS: 5/11/2017 11:02:07 AM"Huh, alright" She took a quick swing with the blunt of the sword not quite used to normal physical capabilities left a small hamper on the swing.
Hit With 1, missed: 25/25
-
SO heads mean I dodged?
-
Yup
-
Four on the die and heads
Royal jumped back and swung his blade in a wide powerful Ark, however, the sword went wide as he jumped back
