[b]Quick disclaimer I will not be bringing anything up that can result in a ban I have lots of choice words about this guy but I will not be saying them, it is up to you to do more research on the serial killer Israel Keyes, I am also happy to answer questions in pm, I would like it if you could upvote this so I know if I should keep making these and I am happy giving people bumps for later[/b] [u] TLDR:[/u] Born 1978 (Utah) Died 2012 (suicide) Victim count: 3 confirmed and a suspect in about 10 others Date Arrested: March 13 2012 Notable points ~He had a wife and daughter ~Served in the army during the late 90's ~Home schooled by two Mormon parents [u][b]BACKGROUND:[/b][/u] Keyes was born in Richmond Utah in 1978 too two mormon parents, his education wasn't very advanced as he was only home schooled, however he was still showed signs of intelligence and knowledge of police procedure. In 1998-2001 Keyes served in the US army spending some time in Egypt, he was a decorated veteran, In 2007 he started construction being a general handy man. This resulted in general appreciating around his neighborhood as he would free of charge or at a discounted price, repair and help neighbors in construction needs. [u][b]CONFIRMED KILLINGS AND CRIMES:[/b] [/u] After his arrest in 2012 Keyes admitted to police that he killed 4 people in the state of Washington, one murder in New York one murder in New Jersey and he has been linked to the murders of a Vermont couple, his last known murder was of a 18 year old girl based in Alaska, Some of these are claims declared by police to be credible and are still being investigated today. FBI reports state that Keyes was responsible for 20-30 burglaries across the USA and was involved in bank robberies during 2001-2012. Despite all of this the only things on his criminal record prior to his arrest was driving without a valid license and a DUI charge. [u][b]Modus Operandi:[/b] [/u] Keyes planned murders weeks or months before taking action, he did not have a victim profile and would murder random people to avoid detection. He would never return and do more killings in a place that he has been too before. To find people to kill he would go on 'trips' with his mobile off and only paying in cash, he had never met his victims. He was a traveler and visited many different states, In these states he would plant murder kits that would contain guns, rope and other such things. He's even waited 2 years before going back to one. It is believed that he still has some hidden. [u][b]ARREST:[/b][/u] After murdering his last victim he pretended the victim was alive, sending the police photos of her with eyes open and the most recent newspaper asking for money, he asked for money to be deposited into her account and he would go around to atms all over the country taking the deposited money. In ATM footage he was disguised. He would still be out there if it wasn't for one great investigator, she noticed a car that drove away shortly after Keyes left the atm and a alert was put out to look for it. He was pulled over and his car searched, the ID of his victim was found in the car. He was then arrested and brought into interrogation making a deal saying that he would tell police about all the crimes he was responsible for on the condition that the press wouldn't get details so his daughter wouldn't find out about him. His trial was scheduled for 2013 but he later killed himself in a holding cell to avoid life in prison.
